I love this site I’ve used it for the last two years. I find accommodation then look up the reviews on this site.

We stayed here on Monday 29th May for 3 nights. We had a car so we had to choose a hotel with parking. This hotel is a lovely large old building, but modern inside and nicely refurbished, it has a long driveway, away from the main road which is very busy but you don’t hear any traffic, which is a plus. Parking is in front of the building being away from the main road it is safe to leave the car there until you wish to leave. If you follow the hotel route for driving you can easily miss the entrance to the hotel as the hotel signs are on a low level wall on the driveway entrance and you can't see the hotel from the road. However if you reach traffic lights at a large crossroad junction you've gone to far, the hotel entrance is just before this junction on the right hand side, next to the entrance is a large raised sign for parking. Trust me we didn't find it the first time. When we were driving down this road all the other hotels looked awful so I was greatly relieved when we saw this one. We found the reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

A few downsides, if you have to stay on a Monday night be warned, make sure you don't have a room near the kitchens (room 3, first floor), a cleaning company comes in between 4-7.00am to jet wash the ovens. It was impossible to sleep so we gave up and got the 6.30am metro to the Vatican, which turned out a plus (see below). We left a complaint at the desk and asked to be moved. However when we arrived back mid afternoon, no one had seen the book and they were fully booked, however they asked us to wait for 10 minutes to see what they could do and they did upgraded us to a three room suite (free of charge) on the 3rd floor for our last 2 nights which was lovely with a bowl of fruit for an apology. I think it was because we remained pleasant during our complaint.

I also recommend that you don't order the Veggie sandwich from the bar, it was disgusting, two pieces of white bread with cold runner beans and carrots? and both times we ordered French fries they arrived luke warm, however there club sandwich was good, so mixed reviews. We didn't eat in the Restaurant so I cannot comment on that.

So on that note I would recommend this hotel as apart from what I have mentioned I couldn’t fault it.

Few tips for Rome:
Metro – 8 minute slow walk from hotel, go to bottom of driveway, cross over the road which has a crossing with lights, turn right towards MacDonald’s which is on the corner then left, the metro entrance is directly opposite you on the pavement. There is a café on your left just before which sells cheap coffee less then 1 euro, all the locals use it. The metro tickets have to be purchased from a machine, its actually cheaper to purchase 2x 1 euro tickets which are valid for 75 minutes instead of 2x 4 euro ticket for the whole day as when your in Rome its easy to walk to all the sites, so it only cost 4 euros for the two of us each day. The metro is easy to use only two main lines A and B and the hotel is on Line A Cornelia, one stop from end of line and the tickets are valid for all lines as we used them to jump onto Line B for the Coliseum.
If you visit the Vatican (11 euros each) unfortunately I recommend that you catch the 6.30am metro, 3 stops, when we arrived there were already 30 people waiting in the queue at 6.50! we decided that one of us stayed in the queue whilst the other walked around to Saint Peters Basilica (free) which opens at 7.00am, we then swapped and managed to both visit it before the Vatican opened at 8.45am by this time the queue was down the road. If you go later you can waste the whole day queuing, you also miss the crowds inside.
I was worried about pick pockets but never felt threatened, however there were a lot of beggars who come around when eating outside and become a nuisance. Two days is more than ample to see all the sites unless you visit all the museums as well.
Hope this was of some help.

I booked this hotel for a 40th birthday present for my wife, and we were both very pleased with it. Ours was a very modern, pleasant room with a large comfy bed. The setting was lovely and peaceful and although one of our windows faced the road, no traffic could be heard. The staff were unfailingly helpful in pointing us in the right direction for all our sightseeing and the breakfast buffet was substantial enough to keep me going until at least 3pm. As for transport we got a 3 day Roma pass which allowed us unlimited travel on buses and metro. The metro station is easy to find from the hotel (very near MacDonalds) and there is a bus stop very adjacent from which you can get a bus into the centre very easily. The 916 or the 46 will take you all the way to Piazza Venezia, via St. Peters, the zoo, Piazza Navona (very close to the Pantheon) and the Piazza Campo del Fiori - a lively square with good inexpensive restaurants.
All in all a very relaxing, quiet hotel after a hard days sightseeing.

My family and I travel to Rome,Italy in April of this year. We had a pleasent stay and the rooms were clean. Yes, rooms are small but no smaller than any other europen room I have stayed in. I booked a triple room for a family of four. I traveled to Rome with two young children. They slept fine on the single mattaress and the bed we had was more than enough room for my husband and I. Upon arrival the front desk clerk was on the phone and seemed to ignor my husband until her conversation was over. She had not been much help for our entire three night stay. I am not sure if rudness is what to call it. She just seemed not interested in us being there ;However the next day there was a male clerk and he was the most helpful and polite. I wish I could remember his name. the breakfest was nice with great varity. I have seen listed on some of these forums peoples complaint about the eggs. My experience was the same with the eggs but with bacon, sausage, fruit, yougurt, and other things not eating eggs wasn't that big of a deal. My family and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is close by the metro station, close to a McDonalds if you get the munchies and up the street is a great little pizzaria. I hope this helps travelers as much as most of the reviews on this site did for me. Oh yeah, I booked the hotel through HotelClub. They seemed to have the best deal at the time. Enjoy Rome, I know we had a blast.

I hate to admit this is the worst hotel experience I've ever encountered in recent memory. My nightmare stay in this hotel started the moment I stepped into my assigned room on the 4th floor of the hotel. To my horror, it looked entirely different from all the lovely pictures you see in the internet. Just picture your college dorm in the early nineties and you will know what I mean. Worst the toilet was just beside the entrance and the foul smell the moment you stepped into the room will make you wanna turn around and check out immediately. I went to the reception and approached the receptionist why my room is entirely different from one I booked. (FYI, I booked my room through a local agent in my country which booked them via Gulllivers Travel which is based in London). I was told that my booking was for a 'Standard Room' while those in the broucher and internet are 'Superior Room'. There and then, I have no chance to verify this but having revisited the Gullivers Travell site and most of the internet sites offering this hotel, there is no such thing as Standard and/or Superior Rooms category. ALL the rooms offered are Standard Rooms, whether Single or Double Room. I immediately requested for a change but was told there are no more vacancies for Superior Rooms. I was also informed that all bookings through Gullivers Travel are for Standard Rooms but with only such and brief stay and not wanting to spoil our holidays, we put the matter to rest but I am compelled to write this review as I feel that I have been unfairly treated and misled by the hotel. I chose this hotel based on its photos and description of it being newly renovated but ended felling extremely cheated and robbed. Never again!!

First of all, it was difficult finiding the Metro station closeby and you had to be very careful which side of the Cornelia stop you got off at because you can get lost very easily. The front desk staff was very rude. I requested a non smoking room and was told whole hotel was non smoking. I then got to my room and it stunk of smoke. I immediately called the front desk and they said they would send someone up. No one ever showed. Upon checkout, I was the second in line and they preceded to take the other tourists who marched right up without waiting. The rooms weren't bad, but the rest of everything else made my stay unpleasant.
