I booked this hotel because I had a really early morning flight out of Fiumicino and wanted to be on the way out of town, on Via Aurelia, instead of in the center. For that it was good, but otherwise I would have stayed close to the center even if it meant spending the same for less.

The hotel isn't quite a palazzo as its name suggests; it's more of an old office building, albeit a nice one. My room was very modern: white with dark wood accents, flat screen tv. The bed, a twin next to another twin, was surprising comfortable as were the sheets. Smallish bathroom that didn't quite work design-wise, but clean. The door to the hallway was pretty thin because I could hear people talking in the halls, though that didn't happen often.

Like others have mentioned, you're a bit out of the center. It's a brisk 5 minute walk to the nearest subway station, but there are other tourists around (if that concerns you) since there are many hotels out here. I felt sorry for all the ones trying to get the bus to get further out on Via Aurelia. That would suck.

The staff was friendly and helped me set up transportation to the airport. Not cheap but I knew that would be the case for an early morning transfer. I'm not recommending this hotel to a friend ONLY because of location. Some people might prefer the tranquility of the location, since it's set off the road in a park, but I think it's just a little far out. Good quality for the price, though.

We had never been to Rome and so weren't sure about the location. Whilst it was out of the city there was excellent access via the metro which was a short stroll away. We had 2 rooms, a suite and a classic room as we were travelling with our teenage daughters. Both rooms were lovely- contemporary and relatively spacious. The views from the rooms were not great but we weren't planning on viewing Rome from our room anyway!
The breakfast was great and came with our room rate, so good value. The bar snack menu was good value but we felt the in-house restaurant was over priced and the selections a bit limited. Security was excellent and although a little arrogant and officious at times the staff generally were pleasant. The package for our suite included free access to the mini bar- we were expecting a very sparse supply but were surprised to find a fully stocked mini bar and we had free wirelss internet access. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I have booked to stay again later this year.

Only stayed for one night so didn't really get the feel for the place.

But our room was smartly decorated but only had a view of the courtyard.
The tube ride into town is a little long but ok and the walk from the tube to the hotel you have to cross over roads. Whenever doing that in Rome you are taking your life into your hands.

One tip though. Don’t bother with the hotel restaurant. Although it has a nice romantic and quiet atmosphere with good waiters. The food is overpriced and over salted. A let down for those famous Italian dishes!!

All in all I found it decent for the price (unlike Rome itself!)

This hotel was excellent. Was travelling with parents in their fifties and while the hotel is outside the city, we actually found it quite relaxing and quite convenient. The taxi into the city was not expensive (around 10 euros one way) and there were a few family run restaurants relatively nearby with excellent value food.

The amenities were top-notch, really elegant and clean, taking into account the price we got (around 50 euros/ night/ person).

The breakfast was also superb, lots of choice, though the coffee could have been nicer. Taking into account we were in Italy, actually.

Finally, the hotel has a nice garden to stroll around in and a nice bar. Lovely for a holiday.

Warmly recommended hotel.

While this was a beautiful hotel in georgeous surroundings we found it to be a hotel with just a room. The room was cleaned daily to a high standard and fresh towels provided. At night the corridors can be very noisy and you can hear toilets flushing and doors closing. All floors are marble and the noise echos.

There were no tea making facilities in the room. This may seem petty but on all our travels this is the first city hotel we have stayed in that this has happened. Hope this doesn't seem petty but that first cup of tea in the morning just starts the day off!!

Breakfasts were available from 6.30 each morning which allowed you to start the day off very early. Because of the wonderful sights of Rome you want to start early to avoid the queues which quickly start at the many attractions. There was a very good variety of food which got you off to a good start.

The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the Metro which we used constently and were very surprised at how quickly we got the hang of it. We always headed in the direction of McDonalds and turned the corner home.

On arrival the staff were very helpful and courteous but when our telephone in the room was not working and we had a problem with our return flight home and asked to use the reception phone we were not allowed to as they would have no idea how much the call would cost - despite the fact that we were willing to pay for the call. I found this very cold and moneygrabbing. Advice to travellers top up your mobile phone.

Our accommodation was in C section and there was a notice not to use the lift. No instructions were given to use an alternative lift. We had 4 flights of stairs everytime we went to the room. It was on the morning of leaving that we discovered a lift around the corner from our bedroom. As there was renovation work being carried on we presumed that all lifts were out of bounds.

If going back to Rome we would probably stay in a hotel a little bit more central as being so far out meant once you got to the hotel and rested for a while you sometimes didn't feel like treaking out again.

  • Liked — Surrounding were lovely.
  • Disliked — Hotel catered mostly for Conventions and felt hotel not welcoming. It was just a room not your home for the stay.
