As silly as it sounds, I picked this hotel because of the name since I was born in Argentina, so I didn't care if it's not as close to the main sights as other hotels, but to my surprise, the name is the only resemblance to my native country. There are no pictures, no flags, not even the clerk knew why the hotel is called Argentina. He did not even speak Spanish. The hotel is located inside a building with several other hotels, and every hotel takes over a different floor. The Hotel Argentina is located on the 4th floor. The problem with this scenario is that there is only 1 "hanging" elevator in the middle of the building, for the whole building. The elevator is very old, extremely slow, and it carries only 2 people at the time. We were 5 people, so going up and down the spiral stairs for the whole stay was ridiculously the fastest way. As far as the room, I have no complains at all. We had a very spacious and clean 1 double bed with 2 single beds, and still had plenty of room to walk around. The tile floor gave it a sense of space and freshness. There is a very small window with no view. The bathroom was small but with a huge corner shower. The 1 person clerk brought us all the extra towels we requested, and was kind enough to order a taxi for us on our last day. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and neighborhood stores. I'm not sure about subways, because we took a taxi everywhere. Sorry I can't describe their breakfast either because we didn't even go to the breakfast room. I'm planning to come back to Rome next year, but this time I'm booking a hotel near the Vatican instead.
