The worst thing about this hotel is the access to it but once you reach the 4th. floor it is quite pleasant. My single room was nicely furnished , had air conditioning, and was quiet being at the rear of the building. The bathroom was excellent. The only thing wrong with the room was the lack of a remote for the t.v.
Breakfast was disappointing. I was also less than impressed by a small notice at reception which said "THE HOTEL STAFF EXPECT TO BE TIPPED"
The surrounding area is certainly not the most attractive part of Rome but it is convenient for public transport and has lots of restaurants. If all you want is a good room near the station this hotel fits the bill.

I picked this hotel because of the location and the pictures i saw. There were three of us; me,my husband and my mum. I asked a double and a single room for us. When we arrived we were a bit surprised by this hotel because hotel is in a big building along with other three hotels. Each hotel got section all over the building. This hotel kept some of the 4th and the 5th floor. They said my mum's room on the 4th floor while we had to go to 5th floor. If the hotel owned all of the 4th and 5th floors by itself there is no problem but there are other hotels and offices sharing the same floor. Each business got their section controlled by their reception by secured doors and locks, checked by staff and cameras 24 hours but that didnt put us at ease at first night. After a bit worried first night we were so comfortable in this hotel.
It was very safe and all of the staff were very friendly and helpfull. Rooms were very clean and new.
I think they should improve their breakfast little bit.
We loved being in Rome and being with Italian people. We had the best pizza from the street market from a bakery stall. The restaurants werent very impressive around Termini station we chose the small and hidden ones for the best food.
Location wise this hotel was fantastic, in the middle of everything. We used buses and metro very near to our hotel.
You can buy daily metrobus ticket for 4euro.
We can go back to this hotel again.

Our room was quite spacious but not much of a view. The rest of Rome made up for that however. In fairness all we needed was a place to rest our heads. The hotel is within walking distance of most of the main archeological attractions of rome. If you aren't much of a walker then no fear as the "termini" (local train station) is a stone throw away and also the metro is around the corner. The staff are lovely and very friendly and had no problem helping us to get a taxi to the airport at 7am. If we were to return to Rome we would have no hesitation using Hotel Argentina again.

As silly as it sounds, I picked this hotel because of the name since I was born in Argentina, so I didn't care if it's not as close to the main sights as other hotels, but to my surprise, the name is the only resemblance to my native country. There are no pictures, no flags, not even the clerk knew why the hotel is called Argentina. He did not even speak Spanish. The hotel is located inside a building with several other hotels, and every hotel takes over a different floor. The Hotel Argentina is located on the 4th floor. The problem with this scenario is that there is only 1 "hanging" elevator in the middle of the building, for the whole building. The elevator is very old, extremely slow, and it carries only 2 people at the time. We were 5 people, so going up and down the spiral stairs for the whole stay was ridiculously the fastest way. As far as the room, I have no complains at all. We had a very spacious and clean 1 double bed with 2 single beds, and still had plenty of room to walk around. The tile floor gave it a sense of space and freshness. There is a very small window with no view. The bathroom was small but with a huge corner shower. The 1 person clerk brought us all the extra towels we requested, and was kind enough to order a taxi for us on our last day. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and neighborhood stores. I'm not sure about subways, because we took a taxi everywhere. Sorry I can't describe their breakfast either because we didn't even go to the breakfast room. I'm planning to come back to Rome next year, but this time I'm booking a hotel near the Vatican instead.
