Good conference hotel but not for pleasure

I attended a conference here and I have to say that the conference lunches were good quality, including good wines. Coped reasonably well with about 400 attendees.

My room was good also - modern, clean, excellent shower room.

Breakfasts were Ok - you could get bacon and scrambled egg, plus the inevitable italian ham and cheese. Fruit, cereal, croissants, toast etc

Some things spoiled it. Before and after the conference the hotel was deserted. Wiser attendees than me had switched to city centre hotels for post-conference leisure. Saturday night, only 5 in for dinner. By far the worst feature was the poor service in the Atrium bar. Waiters hiding away and service poor (and when hotel was quiet I'm not sure if it was manned - it was a mystery -"The Case of the Missing Bar Man"). Bottle of italian beer 4 euros. Second worst feature was the location. You could get a bus to the metro or walk there in 15-30 minutes depending on fitness but I was not too happy about walk back in dark. Once on metro easy access to Vatican, Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain. For Colliseum, metro to Termini then switch lines for 2 stations only

PS Late on trip found good restaurant/pizza house - go to top of street, turn left and it's a short distance on the opposite side of the road. Proprieter provides friendly service, interesting customers include locals and family groups.
I wouldn't choose this hotel for an italian holiday.

I stayed in the hotel from for three nights during our final planning meeting in preparations for a conference we will hold in the Ergife in November. The hotel has been completely transformed into a modern day, clean hotel. I was in a superior room that was spacious, comfortable and very clean. It was tastefully decorated. Five of my colleagues also stayed in the hotel and found their guestrooms to be the same as mine. Public areas were equally as nice to include our meeting room. We were impressed, particularly with the new entrance (this was still under construction when we did our site survey in January.). The staff was friendly; however, not always efficient. Lunches were excellent; however, the breakfast was nothing remarkable. I was told by my Italian colleague that what we saw in this hotel was standard in most. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, especially for business. The location is good being close to a few pizzerias and tratorias and within walking distance of the metro...approx. 15 minutes.

Rome for many is 500 year old buildings and boutique shops. The Ergife is a part of modern,& also a very real Rome. Modern hotel, with clean rooms and modern bathrooms. And a gorgeous large pool! Located On a side street off Via Aurelia, you can see how Romans live an every day life. Chinese restaurant ( good food ) on the corner, bars, pharmacy, market stall f(mercado) for daily shopping all within 5-10 minute walk. To city center, clear info by the Front Desk to take a bus and metro. To Vatican City---20 minutes No complaints on this place

I have just returned from an 8 night stay at the Ergife hotel in Rome. We organised an international conference there. I have to say that having read some pretty bad reviews on this site, I was apprehensive beforehand. Let me confirm that the now fully renovated hotel has excellent facilities. All of the rooms were brand new, clean and very comfortable. The food and service was superb. The pool is amazing, and the conference rooms were perfectly suited to any size delegation. Metro and bus are nearby. I would go back in a flash.

OK... This hotel was one of the stays on our tour around Italy. My husband and I did our own traveling... and had to stay here for various reasons. It's on a bad side of town, you can stay closer to the nice side for cheaper, the staff was RUDE, the hotel was a dead beat place.... not nice. The bathroom was a wreck. To "walk" to town isn't a walk... it's miles of a hike and to catch the bus on that side of town is terrible! I would NOT stay here again.....
