We booked this hotel because it looked good on the advertising and was 8 km from Rome FCO airport.
In reality, our journey today was more than 20km. The taxi driver had no idea where the hotel was and had to ask for directions several times.
We were charged 45 euros for the taxi ride alone.
The location is severely run-down. Graffitti graces the nearby walls, complemented by broken glass and barbed wire fences. There is a feeling of danger in the vicinity.
The "hotel" has prison style maximum security - they have to buzz you in through the front door, IF they are indeed at the desk, otherwise you're stuck outside.
The "hotel" has no bar or restaurant. When we asked why, they told us because it's not actually a hotel, it is a "residence" which is basically a collection of apartments.
Breakfast is not included and the staff are pretty unhelpful.
We asked if there were any restaurants nearby. THE restaurant (ie. the only one within walking distance) is on the other side of the council estate. The restaurant itself had good food and beer but a slightly eerie ambience.
The "room" (apartment) is pretty basic, but reasonably clean. There is no mini bar, just an american style kitchen, so a visit to the supermarket is necessary.
If this "hotel" were advertised as it should be - ie. a residential aparthotel without facilities, it would not be quite so disappointing. On a basic level it's sort of OK, but not somewhere to spend your holidays and certainly nowhere near anything of interest or of use, including the airport.
Our advice - pay a little more to stay centrally. You'll save 90 euros in taxis and avoid certain disappointment.
