we were in Rome during May and we rent a room from Hotel Capitol for our last day of stay. this hotel is very very very convenient to the terminal, literally 2 minutes walk from the terminal which train is the best transportation between the city and the airport, extremely easy to get on the train (you don't have to go up and down to the platform to get on to the train.) the room i had was on the 5th floor, it had hardwood floor, the good thing about it is: hardwood floor did not absorb european smoke!! carpet at other hotels which absorb all the smoke from cigarette gave me a Big Time alergy,which is very bad during your travel. (non-smoking room is a joke in Italy, no one enforces it, therefore, non-smoking room probably = smoking room, even in 5 star hotel) we had big window in the room which is cool to keep air circulating while the AC is working fine, nice small bathroom, stand up shower which is good. no tub. the room was pretty big, pretty roomy.
i will definitely stay there if i will visit Rome again, for its price, for its condition and definitely for its location being closed to the terminal. you can find all transportation you need to travel around Rome in the terminal. you don't really need to join any tour at all.

We stayed at this hotel in the middle of May. There was no in-room safe so I asked the front desk personel about that. I was told that I could check items for safekeeping with them and they would put them in the hotel safe. When I retrieved my possessions, I was missing a gold chain with a cartouche pendant. This item was purchased in Egypt a few weeks earlier for the equivalent of $636.00 Canadian dollars. The staff were not at all helpful and actually rather insulting about the occurance. There were five people who had access to the hotel safe and by the way he responded, I suspect that the hotel manager was the person responsible. The Italian police were called and did talk to the hotel personel but to no avail. I would strongly recommend that people avoid this hotel.
Other than that, the hotel advertised a breakfast and we found it to be the worst one we had in three months of travelling in Europe and Egypt. The choices were dry, hard bread rolls, coffee, juice made from dry crystal packages and nothing else.
We had also booked a tour of the Vatican through the hotel and would not recommend that either. This tour came higfhly recommended by the hotel but we felt that it was a rip-off.

Didn't really enjoy my stay. The trams start at 0530hrs and finish at 0030 hours. Our room was at the front of the hotel on the first floor. The towels were a bit of a shock. Didn't enjoy the hollow chewy roll for breakfast. There were a group of school children staying there when we were there. The shower was very small and the perspex door had a hole in it. All that said you get what you pay for and the staff seemed helpful and friendly. OK for schoolchildren doing Rome on a budget, not good for a romantic break.

I found this hotel from the internet. To tell you the truth, the photos in the internet concerning the bedroom and breakfast have nothing to do with reality. First of all our bedroom had no curtains, either a fridge. The water was really hot though, and they cleaned our room on a daily basis. I chose this hotel though beacuse it had breakfast. Unfortunately I had to eat outside because the breakfast was ridiculous. They had only one type of bread roll (very dry) and you could choose butter, jam and honey. For drink Coffee and concentrated orange juice. That was it, nothing else.
The staff though was friendly and the location was close to all historical sights. However, I think this hotel is too expensive for what it provides. I was really dissapointed.
