Our stay was booked as a surprise gift by our son: he chose this hotel due to its central location as I am unable to walk very far for medical reasons. On arrival we were informed that our room was unavailable "due to illness of female occupant". Yeah right. I told the guys on reception that I was a doctor & would be happy to see the (alleged) sick woman but I was denied access. Despite our protests about having a firm booking which amounts to a contract, they were having none of it. They said they had instead booked us into another hotel with whom they "had an arrangement". The other hotel was over half a mile away (further away from the city centre) - no joke when your mobility is limited. Of the 2 guys, the taller Italian one was up for a stand-up row, arguing that the alternative hotel was just as close to all the places we'd want to visit. No it wasn't. What was so annoying was that we were given no choice: a refund wasn't offered, nor was a suitable alternative. If there really was an ill woman, she could have been moved out to another hotel and claimed on her travel insurance. It was clear that there'd been a double-booking, the hotel was lying to us, and we were simply the fall-guys. We were dealt with totally unsympathetically. There was no excuse for this. No compromise was offered. The alternative hotel was poorly located for our needs but we had no real choice but to relocate there as our stay was a short one and looking for alternative accommodation was not a realistic alternative. Hotel Fiori deserves to burn down for the way it treats its customers.

I must agree with the previous reviewer. This is the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune of staying at. The manager, who is also the owner, is one of the vilest people I have ever met. Our visit to Rome was completely ruined by the stay at this hotel. If you are a seasoned traveller and have experienced unpleasant stays in hotels then the experiences you have had will in NO way prepare you for the experience of staying here. If you want to give your hard earned cash to someone who should in no way work in a service industry then by all means stay here but if you would rather support others who do or at least pretend to like customers then avoid the Hotel Firoi at all costs.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! The manager who is also the owner is the rudest man I have ever had the misfortune to come across!

I am that insensed by the hotel I have just got in from the flight home and wanted to warn people not to stay here asap!

We did not see the reviews on this website until we were due to depart the next morning and it was too late but am hoping others will think before booking!

We were a party of 3 and they refused to allow us to sit together at breakfast and the staff were screaming at us for even asking for the tables to be placed together this resulted in one of our party falling badly and the manger displayed the same attitude as his staff did he did not even ask if they were injured even thought they hot their head on the floor!

There are an abundance of nice hotels in better locations than this at a fraction of the price with better staff!

The location is noisy and has the smallest lift you can imagine. Entrance to the hotel is through a dark lobby used by work places and people who live on the floors below the hotel! If the lift does not work you have to walk 3 floors before you even get to the reception for an unwarm welcome!

Beware stay here and risk having your trip spoiled!

When my wife and I arrived, the en-suite room we had booked was not available. We were put into a tiny room without a bathroom but with a shower and sink inside the room. As we arrived at 11pm, there was not much we could do about it. We were moved to an acceptable room for the 2nd and 3rd nights. We had to haggle considerably when we checked out to get a 5o euro discount for the first night rather than the 30 euro that was offered. The Man at the desk had a very aggressive nature. Overall the hotel was OK. it is fairly central, with a good location for those wishing to walk everywhere, being between the Collosium and the Town Centre.

where to begin........
this has to possibly be the most unprofessional, rudest, most vile hotel that i have ever stayed in.
having been to rome before the hospitality is always second to none, so to my surprise (at what turned out to be the manager of the hotel) was the most unpleasant italian that we could hope to meet. he decided to tell us that we where far to early and that we could not put our bags in the room, for us this was fine as we were ready for some food anyway. we asked if we could leave them in the baggage hold, to his reply of a grunt and never making eye contact, he decided to dump the bags in the middle of the hallway and tell us that was simply not possible. not one for an argument and a desire for some real food we left (taking all our valuables) and headed out for the day. we returned later that evening to find our bags still in the middle of the hallway not taken up to the room to which we were allocated. we went over to the reception and to our delight (or so we thought) a new shift worker who didn't believe that we were staying there and having to show him all our documents again. as shocking as it was believable he managed to be ruder than the so called manager.....
the room was cold dark and quite frankly depressing. the shower was not big enough for anyone who would dream about having more than one piece of pizza for lunch, and the amenities looked like disinfectant (sorry to say we didn't use our moneys worth!)
this review could go on but my simple solution for anybody who is thinking about staying in hotel fiori FORGET IT. we left on the second night after we we rudely awoken, because there was a complaint against us, only to find out that in fact it was the room next door. the night shift person did not come back to apologize but to simply scream at the other guests in the room, stating that being foreign and staying in this hotel was a bad choice, for it was really for italians. i can assure you this much, no italian in there right mind that would want to stay in this hotel.
on the other hand check yourself into hotel CAMPO DI FIORI (please don't get this mixed up!) and receive the treatment of royalty for an extra 25 pounds. it is extremely professional and location to die for. Have a glass of wine on the roof terrace or simply sit in the lobby and relax. Oh by the way hotel campo di fiori HAS a baggage room!!!!
