Hotel Alessandrino was a great value for the location. We had family room, with a king bed, twin and couch bed for 2 adults, two kids 16 & 11. The room and its furnishings were a little worn, but the house keeping made beds, picked up and refreshed the bathroom everyday of our 4 night stay. Location was very near to St. Peters, but as other reviews explain, its a 2-3 block hike uphill to the hotel. The bathroom was clean, spacious, and very new. Breakfast was a little boring, but adequate with pasteries, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, toast, juices, milk, hot cocoa, cappucino and tea. Area is residential, so quiet at night, front desk staff very helpful, evening staff does not speak english. Only unfortunate aspect was that hotel asked for cash payment on our last day, not sure of the reason why, but we objected (could not get enough cash from money machine) and they accepted the Master card. Check on method of payment before you check in.

having checked in at the hotel after taking an age to find it - the taxi driver had no idea, we walked down the hill to find a restaurant. On our return around 9.30 pm, we found the reception unattended but there was a man in what looked like a hotel uniform standing by the lift. We got in the lift and he spoke to us in limited English about the air conditioning not working properly. He got out of the lift at the same floor as us and saw us go into our room. He seemed very pleasant. About 5 minutes later he knocked on the door asking to check the air conditioning in the bedroom and bathroom. He rushed around, tapping the radiator and looking at air vents. Said he would leave it until the morning and disappeared. After another 10 minutes, he was back, said he ought to fix the unit that evening and was very apologetic. We let him in again although we were hot and tired by now and was starting to get ready for bed. He asked for my husband's assistance in the bathroom by him standing on a stool to check the ceiling airvent while he looked at the radiator. After which he quickly went away saying it should be alright now. We then noticed that both our expensive watches had been taken! We had let this man into our room because he had a hotel badge on and we thought he was genuine. My husband rushed to reception and the man there, who had just come on duty, was less than helpful and seemed to take his time understanding that we needed him to call the police and it was a good 15 minutes before he phoned them. By which time of course the thief had got well away. The staff were not at all concerned the next morning either, the only thing they offered us was one free nights accommodation. On top of this the breakfast was disgusting, and the staff not helpful. Visitors to this hotel, be warned. Don't let anyone into your room. By the way, the safe barrel came away in our hands when trying to lock it!

I was booked the apartment (Appartements Pavillon) that is located to an another building than the hotel, it had 2 rooms, the first room is a bedroom with a double bed a wardrobe an A/C and a TV with no signal.
The second room has a bed with an expanded second bed underneath for the forth person that it was broken, at the same area there were the kitchen with a small refrigerator and a scullery, a table and four chairs, leaving no room at all to move around.
The view from the window is a wall and stairs.
The bathroom was awful it was a continuous leak from the base of the toilet and the floor was always wet and the walls were partly covered from rust.
The sheets were clean but the blankets had to see the washing machine for a long time, but the worst was an awful smell that came from the corridor of the building.
From the reception the one lady that I have speak to, was professionally polite, but the lady that was serve at the bar was very rude.
No restaurant at the hotel or near to it, a supermarket about a half km downhill was our snack and beverage supplier.
It should be compared to 1 star hotel or hostel.

Room was nice and big, but noisy. The staff was not helpful or polite. Very hard to locate. Would not stay there again.

I normally try to book hotel with a budget near 150€ and four stars. And my review is centred with the PRICE vs QUALITY of service.

Web of reservation: BOOKING.com
Stay: 1 working day
My Check In: 22:30
My Check out: 8:30

Staff: 1-10 = 5
> friendy staff, but don`t all staff speak english

Services: 1-10 = 6 | Have SKY GOLD price: 10€

Clean: 1-10 = 6 | a normal cleaning room

Comfort: 1-10 = 6 | The room is too smaller, but I only need this hotel to sleep and show the EURO CHAMPION final.

Value for money: 1-10 = 7 | Don`t is in the centre of Rome but walking is 15 minutes and in taxi without traffic about 5-7 minutes.

Breakfast: 1-10 = 4 | need to make some improvement

Metro: Maybe
Bus: Yes
Taxi: Yes
Train: Maybe

(+) Is a new hotel
(-) The problem to discovery this hotel.

Resume: For this price and services, I going back if is only to sleep.
