“Great staff,wonderful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Just stayed here and will be back! The staff were fantastic, striking just the right balance between being attentive yet informal and providing a relaxing atmosphere.Breakfast was probably the best we have had abroad.Snacks served at the bar were very welcome as was Happy hour! Rooms were on the small side but this was a tiny price to pay when everything else was so good. Special mention should go to the excellent barman,Simone and the helpful and beautiful Tatanya in reception.Location is ideal and within walking distance of so many sights.

The hotel itself is in a very good location 10 mins in tube from Termini, 2 mins walk from Flaminio metro station and train station, and number 2 tram (to Stadio Olympico) departs from in front of the hotel. Piazza del Popolo is just opposite the road.
The room we had was very small i thought given the price we paid. We would have like a bit more space to be able to move about. The staff are very polite and helpful. I would say the hotel is good.

Cannot speak highly enough about this hotel. Great location within walking distance of all top attractions, we did not get a bus/taxi/underground once! The hotel is a great haven to return to after a busy day. Classic with a modern twist. Happy hour was well recieved with bar snacks a plenty! Breakfast was equally good and set us up for long busy days. Small rooms but plenty good enough for a base to travel from. Stay here you will not be disappointed for the price!

Great location, just minutes walk to metro and Spanish step. Plenty of shopping close by. Plenty of restaurant around the area. Great breakfast with plenty of selection. Happy hour is great as drinks are 50% off with plenty of snack & nuts. We have an early flight and left the hotel at 3:30 am and they pack us breakfast to take. Which is a nice gesture. Will stay again here when we are back to Rome.

I booked the Hotel after reading its reviews here. And it exceeded my expectations. I was skeptical about the room size, so I booked Deluxe room. Though, it was not too big, but it sufficed our needs. Best thing about the hotel is its "service". Right when you enter this Hotel and meet the reception staff, you know you will be served perfectly. Sergio helped us in finding good restaurants nearby, getting train tickets to Florence and booking the cab. I remember, we needed an Indian-to-European power plug for our laptop charger and the staff did everything to procure that to us! Much appreciated. Location, as mentioned by many reviewers, is perfect to explore Rome. Room was too good with a unique style of decor. Loved it! It was cozy.
Breakfast was the best one we have had in our entire trip of Italy. Happy hours was icing on the cake. Only drawback we felt was the usage of two lifts to reach any floor above first. But, we got used to it in one day. A good Hotel to remember! Recommended!

Room Tip: Get a room on first floor to avoid using two lifts

We stayed at the River Palace Hotel from 24th-27th January 2013. The Reception staff were excellent from the word go and checked us in straight away, even though we had arrived an hour or so early. They provided us with a map to the area and gave us an idea of the walking times to all the major attractions. On an evening they booked our resteraunts for us and spoke perfect English.

The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot and cold options, as well as prosecco. I would recommend the pain au chocolat! The happy hour from 6-10pm does half price drinks and is the perfect starting point for an evening out in Rome. The rooms are small but provide a comfortable and relaxing base for your trip. There was sky TV in the room, with a well stocked mini bar.

The location of the Hotel is very good and we walked to every major attraction. There is a subway/ tram link within a few hundred yards if you prefer. Overall I would recommend the River Palace Hotel to anyone as it has excellent staff, true Roman style decor, good breakfast and a handy happy hour.

The room was adequate, well maintained and comfortable. The staff was attentive, welcoming and we were made to feel comfortable from the start. They are helpful in organising tours and providing tips on where to eat and drink.

The buffet breakfast was great and so was the happy hour from 6 to 10pm everyday.

Location of the Hotel is great. Very close to the metro, however most places are in walking distance, if you don't mind walking. Ancient Rome was a stones throw from the hotel, Piazza Del Popolo is 2mins away, Spanish Steps and Fountain De Trevi 15mins, Colosseum and Vatican City 30mins.
