Capo d'Africa was a wonderful hotel to begin my trip to Italy with my mother. The hotel is a 2min walk away from the Coliseum, in a very quiet neighborhood. We were able to get a "3 nights for the price of 2" deal at the beginning of June, and this hotel was totally worth it! the room was very clean, quiet! and the breakfast on the top balcony was an excellent way to start your day. The cappuccino's are deliciousssss! and you can see the city from that rooftop!
All in all, my mother and I were very pleased with this Hotel! And there are good restaurants right nearby, try: Luzzi, Papagio's and El Minauche! Practical and good!

The Capo d'Africa is close to the Colisseum so handily situated for the Forum and St John Lateran as well as the colisseum. The underground is nearby and very handy. Its only €1 for a ride to wherever you are going. We used it to go the Vatican museums as well as heading over to the Spanish Steps- a good starting point if you want to go see the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

The rooms are nicely done- modern clean lines and the bathrooms are clean too. We had a bathroom with a window and it was very spacious. Our friends on the other hand had an internal bathroom and it was a little cramped I think.
Breakfast is served on the top floor in a bright room with two terraces off it. The choice for breakfast was more limited than I would have expected for a four star hotel but it was adequate. the staff serving were all very friendly too.
There were two things about our room that I found annoying. It was sweltering in Rome in late May- 32-34 Degrees C- so air-conditioning was very necessary for sleeping comfortably. We both thought our room was quite warm even though we had the air on full-blast.
We reported it to the reception but we were told that the aircon was centrally controlled so it was working correctly.
After the second night we went to reception again and they agreed to send someone up to check our sir-con. When the guy arrived he took one feel of the airflow and stated that it was broken.
When we returned that evening, there was a man fixing the main unit in the wall outside our room. Later when we checked the aircon, it was very cold- perfect for a warm night.
It was annoying though how the receptionist didnt check it straight away as we slept badly both nights without the air-con.
Secondly the shower pressure was very low so it took a whikle to shower properly. Also the water would alternate between hot and cold which i thought was strange. My friends on the second floor said their shower was working fine so maybe it was our room or our floor.
Overall this hotel was very nice but it was expensive at €250 per night-and that was a special internet deal- so you would expect things like air-conditioning and showers to work well. The hotel has a business feel about so the staff are very professional.
I would stay here again but I think next time I am in Rome, I would try another area such as Trastevere or Centro Storico to get closer to the nightlife as the area around the hotel is fairly quiet at night.

I like this hotel and would stay here again. Its not full of character but its small stylish very clean and friendly. Perfect for a business trip or weekend break. Fabulous views from the terrace and a decent breakfast. The rooms are quiet and very comfortable.

Four of us stayed at the capo D'africa recently as we were attending a wedding in florence and then decided to travel to rome for sightseeing.
The hotel is very centraly located and is a 5 minute walk to the colleseum.
The hotel is modern as previous members have said the rooms are a good size with high cielings with good sized beds.
Whilst the accommodation dept were spot on as were the breakfast team the front desk staff appeared to have quite a bad atituides and i noticed three rows with guests taking place.
Our friends air con was not working to which they were told of course it was, and then when finlay it was checked it was broken took two days to fix not greta in 35 degree heat.
The wifi was charged at €5 fro 30 minutes which i found redicilous in this day and age and when I did ask for ice every time i was given a small glass of it when i required a bucket, to be told this is all they can gikve out.
These are small things but they are basics in most 3 stars.
Woudl be stay here again no, at 270 a night , I know rome is not cheap but am sure we could have got property wich had the above as standard and did have a hotel restaurant.
