There is no more centrally located hotel in Rome. I'm in my fifties, and was able to walk to everything. The public areas are absolutely gorgeous, but the guestrooms a little more ordinary. But more importantly, the air conditioning worked well, the shower worked well and it was a comfortable room. The desk clerks are a bit shy and withdrawn, as they do not speak English well, but that didn't seem to present any major problems. The wireless internet worked perfectly in the lobby only, but that was good enough for us. We'd sit in the lobby with a drink and our laptops. They do have a bar, but not a restaurant. The breakfast buffet was not as good as the ones we'd had in Venice and Florence, but was sufficient. If I go back to Rome, I would definately stay here again, just for it's location alone.

  • Disliked — the lack of aesthetics in the guest rooms

I read some of the earlier reviews from 2003, 2004 that were very negative. The hotel was apparently completly renovated at the end of 2005 and all I can say is that you cannot go wrong with this hotel.

The loaction is incredible ... walking distance to every major attraction. The room and public areas were well above average and the breakfast buffet was excellent.

I really cannot find anything negative to say about this hotel and I have researched many other hotels in the area. A small elevator that only fits 4 people may be the only negative but unless you are traveling with a large family ... does this even matter.

Comfortable beds, good air conditioning, good bathroom. internet connection in room, quite streets, good staff, I could go on and on.

We recently returned from a 4 night stay at the Hotel Adriano in Rome. (E200 per night) It was the last of our Italian stops and the nicest of the hotels where we stayed. We were pleasantly surprised. The decor was modern and taseful throughout; more than we expected for a 3 star hotel. The room was of average size and the bathroom larger than average. Both were newly decorated and kept very clean. The air conditioning worked very well, which was greatly appreciated during the heat wave. The staff was not overly friendly, but polite and helpful at check in. Breakfast was simple but ample and provided us with necessary fuel to get us started on our day. The hotel was centrally located. We were able to walk to Trevi, Spanish Steps, Vatican, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Roman Forum, Coilliseum, many stores and restaurants.
The hotel is 10 minute taxi ride from the train station and about a 45 minute ride from the airport. We would recommend this hotel to friends and would certainly return there ourselves.

We stayed at the Adriano for 3 nights. The hotel is perfectly placed for walking around the city. 5 mins for the parthenon and not much more to the trevi fountain, shops and spanish steps. vatican and colluseum are about 30 mins walk each (the underground is cheap and easy to use to get to the colluseum). The hotel staff were a bit surly but got us everything we asked for (hairdryer etc) housekeeping could be a bit hit and miss (one day they took our towels and didn't replace them) but the room was clean and comfortable. We looked out onto a ventilation shaft so no view at all but the price we paid was worth it for location alone.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Adriano for 3 nights in a Superior Double Room during our honeymoon. The hotel was nice and we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was good and the staff was very helpful. The room was on the small end and we had a quaint view of the street. The bathroom was newly upgraded. The best part of this hotel is it's location! We loved being able to walk everywhere in Rome. The vatican is about a twenty minute walk, Piazza Navona is about a five minute walk, and the Spanish Steps are about a fifteen minute walk. We will definitely return to this hotel when in Rome again.
