“An Expierence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

Me and my boyfriend have been in Italy for a week, in three cities, and the best meal we had- possibly the best Meal of our lives was at Cantina Lucifero. Fantastic food, amazing wine, and our server Marco was the friendliest, most attentive knowledgable manager/server we've ever had. Truly great experience, highly recommended.

“Superb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

We visited the restaurant twice during our stay in Rome and were thoroughly impressed. Having sampled the duck breast starter I can see why it is so highly regarded by the previous reviewers, it was outstanding. Having the fondue was fun and and the quality of the meat excellent.
The wines were also very well matched to our meal by the staff / owner who was welcoming and knowledgeable.
A great find which was one of the highlights of our visit to Rome. I would definately go back again.

“Lucky at Lucifero”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

So we arrived here quite late... the restaurant was full, the waiter said if we didn't mind waiting a table should become available soon... as we stood outside, one of the staff came out with 2 glasses of champagne to drink as we waited! A full moon on a Roman cobbled street drinking (free) champers, it was delightful. We didn't have to wait long, damn it, another of those champagnes would have been good! Marco greeted us like long lost friends and suggested excellent wine and served delicious food... we had a wonderful evening thanks to Marco and his staff... and I must say at very (very) reasonable prices compared to some other restaurants we visited in Rome...

“Excellent food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

The lardo di arnaude (a sort of bacon) with white truffle honey was one of the best things I've ever tasted. The smoked duck breast with the white truffle honey was also incredible.
For main course had veal meat balls and for dessert tiramisu- both excellent.

The owner (?) Marco was brilliant and explained the menu in detail and adapted to what suited us. we let him chose our red and white wine which were both lovely. The glass of prosecco on arrival was a nice touch.

The restaurant was very small therefore may be worth booking or arriving early to ensure a table. Have eaten in some lovely and expensive restaurants in London and Paris and this easily compared with those and was not expensive. Without tip it was around £40 per person for 3 courses with wine.

We really did enjoy this cosy & friendly little eatery. Such a warm welcome with delicious food and wine. Ticked all the boxes including not being expensive.
