“island in a river”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

Some buildings on an island in the Tiber and a couple of average looking bridges. Not impressed really - cant compare with other islands like the Île de la Cité in Paris. Not worth the detour

“The bridge was built in 62 BC and is still in tact”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

We stumbled upon this island and had no idea the history of it being the ruins of Temple of Aesculapius and once believed to be shaped like a boat, the island boast the beautiful St Bartholomew which is worth seeing as well. It is a simple walk on and walk off it as there is not much there today other than the hospital. However the fact that you walk on a bridge that was made in 62 BC is amazing to me! A "nice to see" on your way to something else.

“Historic center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

The island in the TIber is the historical center of Rome. Today it contains a maternity hospital. The builidngs are very interesting to look at, with a melange of styles visible from the exterior. The bridges are very scenic and connect Trastevere with the ghetto area.

“Amazing Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

My family and I recently visited Rome and loved every minute of it, especially our night out at Isola Tiberina, it was buzzing with atmosphere, great places to eat & lots of little stall to shop at. This is a must see for anyone visiting Rome.

“5-star for the best gealti in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

Crossing ovet the oldest bridge in Rome, Ponte Fabricio, you'll basically fall into a little gelateria on your left hand side, which, I have to admit, is selling the probably best icecream in whole Rome. If you like chocolate with chili: that one will blow you away. Don't dare to take any more than the €2-portion, that's already quite a bit.
