“A gentle wander”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012 via mobile

A splendid audioguide, plus plenty of chairs in each room makes for an unhurried experience. The artwork is splendid and there no frowns from the staff if you want to get 'nose' close to smaller pictures. Personally, I was blown away by some small Jan Breughels' examples.

“Too much to take in”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

Magnificent collection of art displayed higgledy-piggledy three and four paintings high. Very easy to miss some fabulous works of art if you don't take the free audioguide and even if you do.

“Great works of art...but place itself lacks soul!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

An interesting private palace which contains grandeur rooms and some works of arts including Velasquez and Caravaggio. However, the overall palace felt a little soulless. Not sure if its to do with the history of a palace, people or just the way the palace is organized. Maybe its just me. I would recommend checking this out...but not making it a priority.

“Head here for memorable and unique gallery experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012 via mobile

Doria Pamphilj is a private palace and art gallery with several world famous works by Velasquez and Caravaggio. But what makes this a unique, must see experience is not only the stunning beauty of the palace itself, but the unique stories told by one of the family members on the audioguide.

Where else can you hear about a palace from someone who actually ran around it as a kid?

Super fun gallery experience!
