The mosaics in the entrance illustrate the great age of this amazing church. With a decorated ceiling and with Romanesque windows and arches one can easily feel the history of the floor plan which dates back to 340AD.....so cool! As with most churches in Rome you are expected to respect the space and have covered shoulders and legs. The high platform is able to be illuminated by putting a small sum in to the timed light controller on the left hand side stairs. If you are lucky enough to be staying in this historic area of narrow streets and piazzas, this church is well worth a visit.
