We loved the design. I would call it "high end modern." The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was smaller than what I generally expect to find in Texas, but to me it was a nice reminder that I was overseas. The space was well-planned and functional. The fixtures and color had such a sleek feel to them, I was like a kid in there just turning things off and on to see how they worked.
Loved the breakfast, too, and I found the concierge to be extremely helpful. They had taxis at the ready only moments after our request. And my biggest thank you to the concierge is their help on my train situation. I thought I had reservations on a high-speed train to Florence, but as it turned out, I had missed a final step on this. Not being able to speak Italian, I could not straighten this out. The concierge spent quite a bit of time researching my options and describing our wishes and needs. It so eased my mind to have help taking care of these details. Thank you, Hotel Art! We had a wonderful time!

The Hotel Art is on one of the most charming streets in all of Rome, cobblestone surrounded by art galleries and cafes. It is tucked away in a neat enclave five minutes from the Spanish Steps and great restaurants.
As you walk down the cobbled entryway, a little difficult to pull roller luggage on, you enter a uber-modern lobby with high bar against the wall.
The colors are vibrant and bold, each floor its own fluorescent orange or electric green for example.
The concierge was helpful, but not warm and friendly. Sometimes, they even appeared aloof and annoyed.
On to the room, it is all high-tech with internet on the tv, with the most un-useful keyboard ever! UGH!
It was small, they said they had none with a view, so we faced the interior courtyard. It was fine at first, functional. Then the NOISE BEGAN! You can hear the room next door flush the toilet!!! Yes, the toilet. You can hear the hum of conversations ALL night. When guests are in the hallway, you can hear clearly the conversations. The walls are paper thin and the guests were young and partying all night, came home and had more parties in the hallway.
We barely slept, and even in the morning heard so much noise as people were getting ready to leave their rooms.
Anyway, if you are deaf, it is a great place to stay. One plus, the breakfast buffet is pretty good.

I always like to stay in modern design hotels and this one was a good choice!

Location is ideal just 2 min away from the Spanish steps.

Hotel is really well furnished with modern lobby and modern rooms.

The only downside is that our room was on the small side.. maybe rather small. But very good layout i must admit.

Anyway you don't spend much time in your room when you are in Rome!

Breakfast was really excellent and the staff at the reception were really helpfull.

Highly Recommended

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights, my first trip to Rome (although she had lived in the city before). Hotel Art is in a great location - on the Via Margutta, a quiet back street that contains a few shops and some nice restaurants, but very close to the Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo, Villa Borghese, etc. We walked most places - the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, and even Vatican City (although that was a hike). Easy enough access to the metro at the Spanish Steps, though. So - great location, quiet in the middle of the big city. The hotel itself is gorgeous, a renovated church, I believe. Our room was spacious for European standards, and very modern. We stayed on the Piano Verde, or Green Floor. The staff was competent, and we had drinks in the courtyard at night - a very nice experience.

  • Liked — The hotel was beautiful
  • Disliked — Costly, but generally worth the $$

We (2 adults and teenage daughter) stayed on the orange floor for 5 nights. Excellent central location- 2 mins walk to sights, restaurants, shops, but really quiet in our room. Breakfast was really excellent with a wide variety of cakes, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, eggs, cold meats/salami, juices etc. Staff at desk not gushing, but very helpful when approached :they arranged several trips and booked tickets for us efficiently. Our room was very modern with and big enough for the 3 of us, with a compact bathroom that included a bath tub. It's not cheap, but we felt that it met our needs perfectly.
