Very well located small friendly hotel, in which we spent 4 nights between christmas and new year day.

Trastevere is the hype roma area, and the hotel is very well located. Near a lot of good and typic italian restaurants, and near the historic center (2 tram stations).

The tram station is 50m from the hotel, and in 5 min, you are in Piazza Navona, or Trevi.

The rooms are good, clean and quiet. Not luxurious, but fair for the price.

The breakfast is also good, as the room, no more comments. Good for a 3 stars international standards.

Perfect little hotel in the most picturesque neighborhood in Rome --the Trastevere. We had a cozy room on the top floor that had a large bathroom with a tub, lovely to have after a long day of sightseeing. Good breakfast in charming room looking out on a monastery's garden. Wonderful, quiet location. Front desk extremely nice and helpful in all respects. We will never stay anywhere else in Rome!

We really enjoyed our honeymoon in this hotel. Room was very comfortable, with a big bathroom and a bit of a view of the monk's garden next door. Breakfasts were good, and staff were very friendly and helpful (e.g. calling airline to chase up our lost luggage for us).

There's a minibar in the room and an internet terminal downstairs.

It's easy to get into town by bus from the hotel, and there are restaurants etc. nearby.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel San Francesco in Trastavere over Christmas. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Pros:
The breakfast was lovely. Every day they had eggs and bacon, breads, cheeses, meats, several types of pasteries, yogurt, cereal, juices and various types of coffee. It was a really nice way to start your day.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They make you feel very welcome. Most speak at least decent English (some speak excellent English) which was very helpful to us.

Two extra things in the room that I loved: the towel warmer in the bathroom, and the mini-fridge was great for storing some cheese we bought in the market.


Other things to consider:
The room was pretty small (we had a room with one double bed). This did not bother my husband or I because we didn't spend much time here, but it might bother some people.

Trastavere is fairly far away from the major tourist attractions. This is not a major problem as the hotel is close to public transit and really you can walk across the entire city in about 45 minutes, but again it might bother some people. Personally I really liked the area - all our favorite restaurants were here.
