We were taking a break during our extended visit in Malta, to visit Rome
Having found this hotel and subsequent reviews on the internet, we decided to try it after we were unable to get accommodation at two other similar 4* rated establishments in the nearby vicinity.
The only real 4 star rating regarding this establishment must be its location (off via Venetto)!
The room (#309) was average ( say, 3 1/2* ), situated at the back of premises, looking into an enclosed, shared courtyard/well. This proved to be somewhat noisy and smelly when windows were opened.
Breakfast was really average; overflow seating was accommodated in the adjacent 'lounge', resulting in there being no sofas/couches for use during the day...tables and chairs only.
Had to point out lipstick on a drinking glass taken for juice one morning.
On returning one night ,near midnight, we found that the beds had not been made up, rather pulled straight, during that day.
A used bottle of complimentary shampoo and an open, used pack of cotton buds were 'presented' in the bathroom. No face cloths at all. Shampoo was delivered to the room after the maid showed that there was none on the trolley and said that she would phone someone.
Reception staff were courteous.
Three nights stay ,etc, was rather an unnecessary expensive in our opinion, at this 'palace' !
