We arrived 2 days prior to Christmas, were greeted by a friendly desk clerk [wish I remembered her name], checked in at 10:00am, said we had a short visit and planned to 'hit the ground running.' The room was clean, comfortable, well appointed and spacious compared to other European hotels I've seen. Safe in room, ample storage, marble bathroom - clean. Wish the beds and pillows had been softer. When we came back down she had a map out, pen in hand, and started circling, directions, info and so much helpful advice to get us started to metro, Vatican, piazzas, etc. Other desk personned were equally helpful.

Breakfast was fine - not exciting but a variety of cheeses, meats, runny eggs, soft boiled eggs, yogurt, cereals, breads/sweets, fruits, juices - enough choices for most tastes - and espresso/cappo made to order.

Location was quiet. Price was inexpensive that week. We enjoyed the walk from the hotel to metro and piazzas. Had 7 - 9 euro taxi from Pantheon, Navona, etc. Would have enjoyed being closer to P. Navona or Pantheon area just for the nightlife. Would stay here again if price was reasonable - much less than quoted currently.

I had a problem with the taxi driver & asked the desk clerk to mediate. After driver left, clerk said I really owed driver more money but hotels & taxis are having a dispute so clerk wouldn't help driver! The room was modest size. The bathroom floor was never washed for 3 days, nor was the bath surround wiped down. I found item ffrom previous guest under the bed so I assume the room was not totally vacuumed.The hotel is a 15 or 20 minute walk to Metro, & it is uphill on the way back. Breakfast buffet was very good. Internet access was expensive. 15 minute walk to closest Internet cafe.

I started a month long vacation in Rome with my wife. This hotel was nice. The room and bathroom were clean but relatively small. The neighborhood was great and safe but be careful of the strong tourist element that exists on via venetto. Hotel Ludovisi's proximity to many landmarks is another plus. The staff was helpful and nice. Not the most bang for your buck, but thats what you get with an extremely weak U.S. dollar.

Breakfast service awful for a 4 star hotel. Room too small and bad food, ok for 2/3 stars hotel
Anyway, payed 120 € and this price is good for a property located in that area (100 metres from via Veneto), but just for the location, not for for the service.
