Stayed here for 5 nights at the start of our honeymoon. It's a short hike from the train station -- walkable if you don't have too much luggage. The breakfast was very pleasant, with freshly baked croissants, a few cheeses, yogurts, and cereals, and a lovingly prepared cappuchino. Room was adequate, clean, quiet, and comfortable enough. Wi-fi available, $5 for 3 hours. The location really can't be beat, since we walked almost everywhere. You can see the Coliseum from the street (and even from your window if you lean far enough out).

The Apollo was a nice surprise and a great value. We were not expecting such a nice hotel and didn't know the location was so perfect for what we wanted to do in Rome. A family owned and run hotel, the Apollo is beautifully decorated and centrally located right up the street from the coliseum. There are plenty of restaurants and bars close by. The rooms are a little small, as would be expected in Rome and breakfast was weak. The staff, mostly family members, are friendly and helpful. Consider this a strong recommendation to stay at the Apollo in Rome, Italy.

Great family hotel, I will definitely come back next time I go to Rome.
We arrived around 11 am, just wanted to leave our bags there and come later for the check-in, but the room was already ready. We got a map of Rome with explanation and detailed directions to the historical sights and shopping possibilities around. They also advised us of the “Ultima Domenica” – last Sunday of the month when the museums in Rome and Vatican are free (although don’t take it for granted - we had to pay for the Dome of St. Peter’s basilica while the Vatican museums were free).
The decoration was lovely and we could see the Colosseum (well, if you bend over a bit) from our window! There was no noise from the street and the airco wasn’t noisy either. In the morning we enjoyed the breakfast served on the rooftop terrace. For those with a sweet tooth, there is a wonderful ice-cream shop just few steps away from the hotel (on the way to Colosseum).

Would advise travellers to book early - I booked our stay for late September already in May, based on the positive reviews here on Tripadvisor and elsewhere. Out of curiosity, I checked the availability for the same itinerary in July, and there were no more vacancies.

We returned today from a week long holiday, staying at the Hotel Apollo. We were given a triple room although we had only requested a double, so had extra space. The room was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet, although quite dark. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was very clean and the lift was modern. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the roof terrace was wonderful! There was fruit, cereals, breads, danish pastries, croissants, rolls, ham, cheeses, jams yogurts etc etc, and the rooftops of Rome to gaze at. The area had dozens of ristorante/pizzerias within a very short distance. We walked everywhere, except on our trip out of Rome, to Tivoli which I would recommend. Transfer to and from the airport at Fiumicino was 40 euros each way. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
