We stayed three nights and at 25EUR per night it was the cheapest accommodation we could find in Rome. The room was bare but clean with lockers as the actual room door does not have a lock on it. The guys running the place are very friendly and helpful. The showers overfload. Internet is free. Very close to the Vatican.

This place was okay - the location was very good, although Rome is quite big, so you will have to take the Metro to get around.

First complaint about this place is that i emailed in advance to say we would arrive one day late, and we received confirmation from the office, but the office and hostel are in separate locations, and the information wasn't shared with the hostel, so when we did show up, they thought we were a no show and had given away our beds to other people! Luckily, I had an email confirming my change, so they were able to find us a bed. So we had to switch rooms in the middle of our four night stay, and we picked our beds out in the morning, but when we got back in the evening, our beds were taken by other guests. I was not impressed. The front desk staff had a very laid back, don't care attitude, to our problems, which was irritating. The mattresses were also badly worn and u-shaped, and i think they can afford new mattresses at $40/night per person with the number of people they have staying there.

Also, the showers were dirty and full all the time.

The only good thing about this place was the price was a lot lower than other places, and the location was good. Otherwise, i would try to find another hostel, or i would spend the extra for a hotel.

My friend and I used HostelWorld.com to book this place. I really reallllly recommend for a few reasons. Firstly, it was def. cheap. None of the places we booked at were more than 20 euros a night. This place in particular was very clean, supplied blankets and pillows and such for you at no extra charge. Offered lockers with locks on them to store your items in at no extra charge. And the location was amazing. If you were on the right side of the building, you could look out your window and see the dome of St. Peter's Basilica. Every night, we walked over to the Vatican and looked around the piazza, sat by the fountains, etc. A metro station was about 3 or 4 blocks down the street, that would take us into the center or Rome. Word of advice, purchase a bus pass. Because of the ancient sites in Rome, metro tunnels arent allowed to be dug under any of that touristy area. Therefore, you've got a good half hour walk or so to get into the sites once you get off the metro. If you happen to go to this hostel, i recommend you take an old book you don't want anymore. I say this, because they have a "take a book, leave a book" exchange. There's a pile of books that one can take, and replace with one of their own. An interesting international exchange if you will. A great hostel. Friendly staff and excellent location. 2 mins from Vatican so you can get uo early to beat the crowds.
