What a nice surprise to find a hotel that provides a computer for free in a lobby area. This is such a convenience on a trip. The staff here is helpful and the atmosphere of the hotel friendly in part because of the type of people who stay here. There are both a small refrigerator and a safe in the room. The location is great. This is a perfect place for a traveler who likes comfortable small European hotels which are centrally located and who does not expect luxury.

We stayed here for 1 night after a Mediterranean cruise. This place is wonderful. We thought the location was great. Easily walkable from Termini train station and it is not in the dodgy part of the Termini neighbourhood. In fact, the Ministry of Defence is across the street (with uniformed/armed police and it is a few quick steps from Via Nazionale. We were treated wondefully from the moment we arrived. We arrived at 8:30am and the wonderful lady (I recognized her from Rick Steves book!) was very helpful with directions, suggestions and checked to see if the room could be ready in 30 minutes. We decided to head on our way so left our luggage there and came back later. Our triple room had high ceilings, spacious bathroom including tub and bidet. TV has lots of channels - the only English channel is CNN. WiFi access on the lower floor, not in room but fast. A PC computer also available on the lower floor for those without a laptop. As well as Ethernet. Internet is included in room rate. Breakfast included in room rate and had nice selection including cereal, pastries, yogurt, some cold cuts, etc. We enjoyed the beautiful breakfast room. We had a room overlooking the street but it was a quiet street and no noise issues. 24 hour front desk and you have to buzz to get in the evenings and off hours so very secure. Gentlemen at the front desk reception in the evening was also incredible helpful with directions and recommendations. For those who like McDonald's it is right at the corner of Nazionale and Firenze less than 30m away. I would go out of my way to stay here the next time I return to Rome. Walking distance to Colosseum (15minutes), Spanish Steps (15 minutes) and many of the big sites (except Vatican of course although I suppose you could if you were energetic. We found taxis cheap and efficient when we got lazy. Air conditioned. Friendly guests too - I think that when you stay in a Rick Steves recommended hotel you attract independent friendly people.

I stayed at Aberdeen Hotel for 5 nights in June, 2009. The hotel is conveniently located to the public transportation: metro, bus, train station, shopping and restaurants; easy to find. My room was very nice; small, but there was enough space for one, and everything I needed. The bathroom seemed to be recently renovated; the air conditioner worked fine; I did not need it much; the room had a large window facing the quiet courtyard; I could keep the window open all night for fresh air.
The breakfast was served from 7-10am; it was simple, but enough for starting the day. The personnel are very friendly, helpful, speak perfect English. I had very positive experience.
I would like to congratulate Sabrina, Costel and others for doing a great job.
Thank you.
Elena K.

My daughter and I stayed at the Hotel Aberdeen in Rome. This hotel was recommended by Rick Steves. Hotel Aberdeen is located a few blocks from the train station in a relatively quiet street (as Rome goes). The hotel staff was courteous and friendly and went out of their way to make our experience enjoyable. The room was clean and air-conditioned. There was a lift available as well. The hotel is conveniently located to train / subway and bus. The cost of the room was approx $150 Euro, which is reasonable in Rome. My daughter and I both would highly recommend this hotel.
