“Hotel Madrid could be excellent value for money, if they do update the interior, decor and they have to make repairs.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Our Company from 6 friends we spent 3 days in Rome for a long weekend we booked a hotel reservation via Booking.com superior double rooms.
The hotel’s staff prepared a very pleasant surprise four our wedding anniversary, when arrived we found a bottle of champagne and a larger room than we were commissioned.
Hotel Madrid could be excellent value for money, if they do update the interior, decor and they have to make repairs.
The location of the hotel was perfect to us, walking distance to restaurants, major attractions, close to the underground.
Rooms were very comfortable and a good size, but very outdated, smelly. Poorly tired looking, dirty carpet at public areas and the corridor. Our room has shower which were small narrow, with the mouse.
The windows looked out to the front of the building with the nice view but it was very noisy street all night, because of night club besides.
Good breakfast on the roof terrace with lovely views over the city.
The elevator was very small, just for two persons.
Wi-Fi not included. Very limited TV programs just Italian plus CNN.
Hotel‘s booked taxi was late to take us to the airport 40 minutes.

Room Tip: Our room windows looked out to the front of the building with the nice view but it was very noisy st...

Room and bathroom larger than most in Europe. We had a room with a view of center building area but advantage, very quiet.

Dated furnishings but clean. Bed felt hard the first night but got used to it in our 4 night stay.

Near Spanish Steps and Piazza di Popolo, my favorite a real Rome scene. Don't miss it.

Very helpful staff. Single fee for wifi access.

Room Tip: Rooms facing inner courtyard, the quietest, no street noise.

We went with our three children for a six day Rome visit. We booked hotel Madrid largely for its location, price and good Trip advisor comments. We werent disappointed. It is good quality for money. The rooms are a bit basic and decorated last probably 20 years ago but tbey are clean and the beds decent. Breakfast are good quality and the staff are lovely.

Prime location close to everything, extremely pleasant and helpful staff from the front desk, house keeping and cheerful ladies at the breakfast roof garden which definitely a nice way to start a day. Room very nice and clean. Felt very safe that I extended my stay 3 extra nights and would certainly stay there again. Though I had problem reserving through booking.com and when I called they did not offer to make direct reservation but that was forgotten after my stay. Rima

This is an ordinary hotel. The location is the most positiv thing about it. The room and bathroom was nice and clean. Beds a bit hard (I like soft beds). Nice and helpful cleaning staff. Nice breakfast buffé on the roof terrace. The street below was a bit noisy friday and saturday evening... Had to pay extra if we wanted WiFi although it said free WiFi on Tripadvisor! I think we paid too much for what we got (980 euro for four nights). We realized, when checking other hotels, that we could have got a lot nicer and more charming hotel for the same price. If you get a better price though, I would recommend it, for its central position and okay standard.
