The staff was so friendly I felt like I was part of a family. They made my trips to Rome nicer. I stayed there in April 09 and July 11 and I will probably pass by there again. The rooms are very clean and all services are exactly what is needed. The location is so great everything is a walking distance away. The area is very safe at all times and serviced (theres a bus stop in case some needed to take the bus), the airport bus stops at the Piazza where the Guest House is, there is a supermarket in the building infront.

This hotel is extremely recommended for the friendly reception by Mr. Ovidio who will give you great advice on the places to visit around. Also the location of the hotel is perfect (10 minutes walk from Vatican city and other attractions). The accommodation is in a romantic setting (old Roman house), it is clean and nice, but not offering the latest modern comfort (if you would be looking for that on a city trip).
Very much recommended for the combination of price, location and friendliness!

I have stayed at Marta Guest House on two separate trips to Rome and will defnitely return. The staff is friendly, courteous and very helpful. The rooms are clean and uncluttered and each one unique. The location is perfect for visiting the Vatican and all the other sights, either by walking or by public transportation. Each room has its own private bathroom and air-conditioning (upon request for a reasonable extra fee). It is a small hotel so be sure to reserve well in advance – however, they are also flexible if you need to add beds or rooms later. They are willing to add beds for triple and quadruple occupancy which is very convenient and therefore less expensive for families. The elevator in the building is an old-fashioned cage elevator that holds 2 people plus a little luggage, certainly adequate for moving in and out of the hotel – we mostly used the stairs for everyday passage. The morning breakfast is good unless you are on a low-carb diet. The person that provided outstanding service to my family was Ovidio – he communicated by e-mail promptly and with good suggestions to all questions. He also helped arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel, from the hotel to the port (if you are taking a cruise) and from the port back to the airport at much more reasonable pricing than you find on the internet. Enjoy your Roman holiday at Marta Guest House.

this hotels is awesome for its location! It was really expensive though! I am used to small showers, but this one was really extra small! The bed was comfy, the pillows were not! It took us a while to find the place, because we thought it would be right opposite No 42, but it was the building right at the end of the street because of the school that takes up a whole block. The bus from airport stops about 500m from the guesthouse, so very conveniant! We walked everywhere, really central, that was the best part for us!

Stayed at the guest house for three nights at the end of May 2011. Good location for accessing the tourist areas of Rome.

The room, dark and small, held no resemblance to the rooms depicted on the web site. None existent view from window and overall the room was disappointing.

The room was not serviced on the Sunday. When this was brought to the attention of the duty manager he simply strugged his shoulders and said that the cleaning lady had gone home and there was nothing he could do. Nothing was done to assist us and to correct the problem that was not of our making. We were therefore left to sort the room ourselves, to have the dirty breakfast tray in the room overnight and to use dirty and wet towels. The next day the room was correctly cleaned.

Breakfast is served in the room on an open tray and the best we achieved was warm coffee. Not satisfactory and of poor quality. Trays being carried through corridors with open drinks and food uncovered is unacceptable.

On departure, no discount/refund was forthcoming regarding the room not being serviced. The duty manager insisted the full price was paid and even attempted to charge us for use of the air conditioning.

Expensive accommodation and will not use on return trips to the city. One certainly didn’t feel like a guest!!
