“Believe me all the bad reviews are right.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013 via mobile

After returning from a great tour of southern Italy our tour company booked us into this 4 star hotel as they thought it would be a good location if flying out the next day. Well it may have been 4 stars back when it first opened as now I would rate it at 2 stars which is also being generous. It would have been nice to go to a room with air con that worked well enough to cool down the room let alone a show box which is size of most of the rooms. This 4 star dog box does not even have restaurant to enjoy an evening meal. Location is also a worry as area behind is a gathering point the the local young kids who have no respect for others. But the worse thing of all is the lock on the door which was the size of a public toilet lock in the middle of main road. if you find you to staying here ask to change as its crap. Will also being advising the relative tour company about their choice of hotel.

For the last fifteen years or so myself, family and friends have used this hotel for various breaks. My best friend and his family live close by in Acilia and is perfect for that.It seems most people stay here and visit Rome as it is cheaper than a lot of hotels centrally. Also they stay out of season and so the pool will be out of use and not maintained even if the weather is good !
There is a good restaurant around the corner with a covered outside eating area if preferred and reasonably priced.A few yards away is a small bar and a good place to have a drink/snack.
Ostia the local beach is not far away and worth a visit especially during the summer months as the privately owned parts of the beach (there is a charge) are well looked after with good amenities food and drinks. In Ostia Itself there are plenty of restaurants bars etc.Just get a cab to Acilia train station and a one euro ticket will take you either to Rome ( 30 mins) or Ostia (15mins).
The hotel staff are very good and happy to help with any queries and supply maps if needed.Rooms are clean and tidy and breakfast is the usual cereal, meat, rolls, fruit etc

Room Tip: As usual with most hotels,High up and towards the end of a corridor.Mind you in some hotels abroad s...

My boyfriend and I stayed for 7 nights at this hotel between the 21st and 28th of October 2012. Having a 6am flight followed by a bus, a train and then another bus to reach the hotel wasn't ideal but we eventually made it.Definitely not an ideal location if you want to be in the hustle and bustle of city life. We were greeted by a friendly young man who allowed us to check in early and our room, although small was clean and tidy.
After reading our 'welcome' pack we decided to take a little tour around the hotel....this is when the disappoint started flooding in. Excited, we made a bee line for the pool as the weather was gorgeous and we were both keen for a swim...our excitement was soon dashed as on the way I noticed a green, algae infested swamp that looked like it would have Shrek's stamp of approval written all over it. 'This can't be the pool?' I reluctantly asked my disapproving boyfriend. 'Erm, I think it is' was his disappointed reply. There in this self proclaimed 4* hotel was a pool so green it would have been better placed in the woods than this once luxury hotel. Yes, I know it may be coming out of season but the weather is still hot and guests are still shown pictures of the lush blue water when booking the hotel. This is really misleading and such a shame as the pool would have been perfect if it was maintained like it should be. Definitely not a good first impression. We then went to ask where the indoor pool was only to be informed that it only opened at certain times of the day for 2 hour slots and was closed all day on a Sunday. Definitely not what is expected in a tourist spot in a continental country.
Coming back to our room, our double bed was two twins pushed together and the mattresses themselves were hard and not very comfy. Movies were extremely expensive at 13 Euros a go or 22 Euros for 24 hour access to movies, television and internet. We actually purchased 24 hours of internet use for 5 Euros, but this was slow, frustrating and didn't load up everything on the page.
The bathroom was fully functional and the cleaning service was good as we had clean towels and toiletries every day. The cleaning lady was also very sweet and helpful, which was a bonus as some of the other staff (mainly on reception) were unhelpful and snooty.
The breakfast was plentiful, although choice could have been better and it consisted of croissants, bread, jams, ham, cheese, yoghurts, fruit, juices, tea and coffee and lukewarm eggs and streaky bacon. It was a good way to start the day and breakfast is served until 10am which was a bonus if you didn't want to be up super early.
Overall, our stay wasn't horrendous but could have been made so much better by having use of a clean outdoor pool and seeing a friendly face in reception. There wasn't much help with tourism either and you were made to feel a bit of a burden if you asked for travel advise. On departure, we were also charged 5 euros for drinks out of the minibar which we never touched. On complaint, we were told this couldn't be taken off the bill. Not a great end to our stay.
I definitely feel this is more of a business hotel or for people who want a quieter stay as there isn't a lot to do in the area.

Room Tip: Higher Floors are definitely quieter as coaches tended to turn up late at night or early mornings.

We took a large group of students to Rome for ten days and we stayed in this hotel. It was sufficient to what we needed-a place to sleep. We were always the first group down for breakfast so it was really early and there usually wasn't much to choose from. There was really basic stuff: bread, croissants, meat, cheese, fruit cocktail, yogurt and occasionally cereal. They sometimes had eggs and what I think is supposed to be bacon but it was usually always undercooked. The rooms were okay. Since we had a large group we knew that things varied from room to room. My room was fine but I know other rooms the air conditioning didn't work, or the refrigerator didn't work. The location is in the suburb area so it's not close to any common Rome attractions. It is close to a bus stop that can get you to a metro station fairly quickly. It was kind of nice being away from the tourist stuff in the evenings and being able to relax.

Having read all the other reviews before staying here, I was happy with our stay.

Stayed here from the 9th to 12th October, and had a great time in Rome!

Okay the hotel is not close to the main sights, as mentioned on here before you need to take the metro, which took us 15 mins and then take the 709 bus to the hotel. This took us on average 20 minutes. Biggest issue I had was the bus is supposed to run every 20 minutes but the day we arrived and left we had to wait 30 minutes for it! It took us around 40 minutes travelling each way, try and avoid the rush hour traffic in the mornings. Top tip is when you come out of the metro station at Eur Fermi cross the main road, you will see market stands, behind this is steps down which takes you to the where the buses start from, often the 709 is already there, and you hop on and wait for the bus driver to start the service.

This hotel was perfect for me and my husband, as we had planned to spend 4 days of full on sight seeing. The hotel is not good if you are planning on going to Rome's bars/clubs as the bus doesnt run all night.

We had a room on the 5th floor, the hotel has a lift so this was no problem. Our room was clean and we had no problems with our room. The shower was really great, very powerful shower head, much needed after a day of sight seeing.

We had a lovely cleaner, who cleaned our room perfectly each day, very nice to come back to a clean room each day. Towels replaced daily, they also provide shower gel, shampoo, shower caps etc. So that was a nice touch.

The only issue I really had was that the hotel did not provide free wifi, as a 4* hotel, I thought that was not good. Although the cafe round the corner did have free wifi.

The breakfast was again okay, maybe not the best for a 4* hotel, we had a selection of fruits, ham, cheese, jams, bread rolls, cakes and pastries, yogurts cerals to choose from.

There was a seperate breakfast area for the large group of chinese tourists and that included bacon and eggs. Not really sure if they paid more? I will be emailing the hotel about this point, as I think they should provide the same breakfast for all.

So take the good with the not so good, I wanted a cheap stay in Rome, and this was pefect for sight seeing and then crashing out and getting a good nights sleep ready for the next early start.

We was also very pleased we had four days of beautiful sunshine 24-25 degrees, on our last day yesterday the rain finally came, and it was very very heavy rain. So glad we was going home.

Room Tip: Get a room on the 5th floor, for a peaceful nights sleep.

We read this was a 4 Star hotel - no way!! The room was small, air conditioner not effective, carpet needs cleaning, toliet seat not attached to toliet, staff was not friendly except for one person. The breakfast is another story - the crossants were o.k. but as we were told we had to be there at a certian time the scrambled eggs were not cooked all the way or was the bacon which was also under cooked. It is difficult to get into the city and we needed to catch 2 subways and a bus!! We were with a group so they wanted a better hotel instead of one closer to the city.
I will not stay there again. Just be advised. Would be very difficult to have children included and have to try to get them to and from the city - unless you want to spend a bunch on taxis everyday.

Room Tip: If someone knows of one I would be surprised!

We booked this hotel by using some rewards points. It's obvious when you arrive that it once was great but is badly in need of money to update and restore its facilities. We were supposed to stay three nights but left early because the air conditioning in our room was so inadequate we couldn't sleep. When we went to the front desk to see if it could be checked, we were treated rudely by the lady there and by the man she sent to check it. We just cut our losses and left.

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel.
