We were so happy after weeks of planning to finally arrive at Hotel Due Torri and find it to be charming, clean, professional, in an absolutely perfect location, and so picturesque. We stayed here for 4 nights--don't miss the restaurant alfredo around the corner, where they cook fettuccini alfredo (supposedly invented there and ten times better than what you would have in the U.S.) at your table in front of you. We loved the breakfast in the morning, with the separate coffee bar where our coffee was made to order. The concierge was also very helpful. Stay here!

In Italy, nothing is guaranteed, however our stay at the Hotel Due Torre in July 2004 (for our honeymoon) was very enjoyable. The room was decently sized (for Italy) and our bathroom was, dare I say, large! everything marble of course. Not an upscale hotel, but in a great location- it is located on a very quiet back street, which is hard to find, however, you appreciate its location at night. We had very quiet evenings, which you need after walking all day. The owner was on site and was very concernd as to whether we were being taken care of.. I overlooked her indiscretion, (as she was a bit flirtatious with my (brand new) husband,) but she booked us a very enjoyable dinner at a local restaurant. Very helpful staff. They answered all of our questions. Definitely reccomend this hotel.

A charming, small place tucked away on a QUIET street. Our room was on the top floor with a narrow rooftop patio area. Had nice views over the rooftops of Rome. Small room with a low ceiling and good AC unit = great climate control during the hot spell! Bathroom was modern and larger than expected, given cramped room. Very good breakfast included. Friendly, helpful staff. Got an excellent shave and haircut from neighborhood barber.

For us on our first trip to Rome, this place was perfect. Room was small, but exceptionally clean. Small shower, but bathroom itself a good size and well lit. Payed the same for a lot less in NYC.
Key to us was location and staff, worth the price. Did not get on a bus or take a cab while there. Walked to Vatican, 20 min;Spanish steps, 15 min; Pantheon, Trevi , Piazza Navona, 10 min-15 min; Forum/ Colosseum area 25 min. All great "walks"
Staff , day and night , was extremely helpful and gracious.
Lastly, for us, a delightful breakfast... hard boiled eggs, variety of cereal, juices, croisssants, etc.
First timer hint...check out the Pantheon piazza at night. Had to stroll by there everynite. Cool.
FYI..from Rome , went to Florence, stayed at Hotel Porta Faenza, will report on that one also. Ciao

Hotel Due Torri was my first accommodation in Rome during my trip in Feb. 2004. Although I had read the reviews about the smallness of the rooms, I was still surprised about just how small a room can be. I was in a single and my first room had about a foot of room to walk/maneuver. I enquired if there was anything a bit larger and I was cheerfully moved - to a room that had a spec more space.

Besides that, the location of the Due Torri is fabulous - very centrally located and within walking distance of almost everything. The staff is friendly and the rooms clean. My only disappointment is that I was still directed to the 'tourist' restaurants when I stated I wanted to stay away from these.

Hotel due Torri is good accommodation for the cost. However, if you can spend a bit more money, the Hotel Locarno was a much better experience.
