This hotel is within easy walking distance of the metro and the termini. However, make sure you exit the train station by the correct door. Otherwise you will find youself, like us, putting an unnecessary journey on yourself. If you're arriving at the termini with cases, I would take a taxi, due to the uneven cobbled surface of footpaths. Thereafter, a taxi will not be necessary. The hotel itself was perfect for our needs. There were three of us sharing a large triple room. We visited all the major attractions courtesy of the metro which was two blocks away and was very easy to use. Buy a day pass which is very good value. You can eat breakfast on the hotel terrace which is €10 extra, or in the dining room. We chose to eat in the dining room which is a very pretty room and we found the service to be excellent. The range of food was great and it was replaced and replenished as soon as it ran low. Checking in and out was a pleasure and the reception staff, like all the staff, were courteous and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to any person travelling to Rome. At present, if you stay 3 nights, you get the fourth night free of charge. Give Alpi a try, I promise you wont be disappointed.

I visited Rome in June for a conference but continued my trip to the weekend where I stayed at Hotel Alpi. I was a little disappointed with our room, but we were only there for 2 nights so we didn’t complain. The room was extremely dark due to having no natural light as our window opened on to a very small court yard, which made it feel very claustrophobic. Also, our Air Conditioning kept turning itself off, even though the room was still hot. As noted in previous reviews, there are no English channels on the TV, but why would you visit Rome to watch TV, so this didn’t affect us.

Generally the hotel was clean and very tidy, and the staffs were extremely friendly. The breakfast was what I expected, continental foods i.e. hams, cheeses, bread etc, if you’re expecting eggs and bacon you’ll be disappointed.

One main point I’d like to mention is the fact the roof terrace is not available free of charge, maybe I re-read the information on the website, but I assumed this roof terrace had a bar area where we could have a drink and eat our breakfast, this was not the case. To have the privilege of using this terrace there was a service charge of EUR10.

The location was not ideal, I’ve visited Rome twice now and my favourite areas are Trastevere and the Pantheon, which is a good 30/40 minute walk from this hotel. Which doesn’t sound too far, but after a day of walking non stop in 30 degree heat it’s not great. Although, there were a few bars and restaurants near the hotel but I can’t comment as I didn’t try them. Personally, I would rather be closer to the main areas, but if you like to be away from that then this is definitely a good choice in hotel.

Hotel Alpi is a friendly, clean, cost effecient and very hospitable small hotel located a few minutes walk from Termini Station. While not that close to some of the more frequently visited tourist attractions, it is, nonetheless, well positioned for the experienced traveler (train, taxi, bus) who might like to stay out of the crowds. Well kept and maintained, it is in close proximity to small fine small restaurants and shops. We would, without a doubt, stay there again.

I stayed in this hotel for one night with my husband, we were passing through Rome so we needed to be close to the train station (Termini) but it is still a good location for seeing the city. The hotel itself is lovely, obviously recently refurbished, our room was on the ground floor so had a little street noise but then when you are staying in an Italian city this is what you would expect or even enjoy. The room itself was fabulous, really chic and modern, with a fab en suite boasting a wet room type shower. The lobby was lovely and breakfast room really quite charming, we enjoyed an excellent breakfast with a selection of meats, cheeses, cereal, fruits, cakes, everything really. We also ate dinner in a great little trattoria just up the road towards Via XX Settembre, Andreas, excellent food. Anyway, definitely to be recommended, I will stay there when I go back. Just one pointer, I wouldn't walk around the area on my own at night, I'd get a taxi just to be safe but that is absolutely no reflection on the hotel, it's just that you walk near the bus and train station and they are never good anywhere at night. Ok in company though.
