We really enjoyed our stay during our first trip to Italy. The staff were very helpful and were happy to store our bags when we arrived early in the morning. Although the room was not large it was an adequate size, had good air conditioning and was clean. The shower may cause problems for anyone of bigger than average size but we managed fine. The location was what made this hotel stand out. There were lots of restaurants in the local area and staff were happy to recommend suitable ones. Would definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed very much the friendly and knowlageble staff, all the tips on exploring the city. The breakfast was great and one can also enjoy it by bringing it upstairs and be surronded by the roof gardens and the ambiance of the streets. Great location, 8 minutes to Coleseum and 20 to the Trevi fountain. Close to a lot of amazing little churches and other gems of the city. Close to bus and metro stops.

We had a really pleasant two nights at Hotel Grifo. It was one of the best hotels we stayed in during our two week trip to Italy, and not the most expensive by any means.
The hotel is well positioned to explore the historic "east bank" of the Tiber on foot. We booked a tour with pickup transport for the Vatican, which was worthwhile. The hotel is close to buses and the underground, but we didn't use either.
In particular the staff were very helpful with advice and bookings.
The breakfast was great too!

Stayed for 2 nights Sept 16 &17, 2012.Great location for walking and sightseeing. close to the Colesseum. Rooms were basic but very clean. Hotel staff were very helpful, gave us a great tip on a lookout over the city. Amazing. The rooftop terrace was a great place to enjoy some wine while we relaxed from our day of sightseeing.
