Despite two lengthy attempts by Diners Club and a final email plea from me, the hotel refuses to return the charge they made to my credit card despite my canceling the reservation weeks in advance on their web site and calling the hotel several days before the date. I have no idea if its a nice hotel or not, but their intransigence in returning my $630 will guarantee I never find out.

I highly recommend this hotel for a short break in Rome. Yes, our room was small (as they often are in European cities) but was nicely decorated and absolutely spotless - cleaned every day to a very high standard. The bathroom was a good size (including bath), and well stocked with a large variety of toiletries. The location of the hotel is also excellent; in a safe neighbourhood very close to the Spanish Steps and within easy walking distance of virtually everywhere else you could wish to visit while sightseeing in Rome (we did not use taxis or public transport once). There is a pleasant bar/restaurant within the hotel, busy with locals which we liked, but I recommend a small cafe on the same street (turn right out of hotel) for a true Italian breakfast and welcome. Hotel staff were very helpful and were happy to make various telephone calls on our behalf e.g. table reservations, airport taxi etc. All in all a wonder ful stay - would definitely stay here again if we are ever lucky enough to return to Roma!

Upon reading several reviews of this property I think our expectations were set a bit too high. The Hotel's best feature is it's location -- a block from the Spanish Steps and in a fun cafe restaurant area. However, the Concierge was snobby and unapproachable. And the hotel room was very average. If you are looking for a 3 star property with a good location Hotel Homs is a good bet.

I booked the reservation online through their website. For the price we paid 550 euros per night, for 5 nights, we expected excellent service. We booked the Trinita De Monti Suite de luxe and were happy with it - two flatscreen TVs, modern bathroom. However, since there were 4 of us, we needed the extra bathroom and inquired about the apartment. We were told the rate was depending on the number of people and were surpised to be quoted rates lower than the rate (300- 450 euros)we paid for the suite deluxe. But when they checked our current rate, we were told they would give us the apartment for the same rate we were paying. We transferred and expected better accomodations. The apartment is really big but is not as modern as the suite deluxe. One bathroom is old and the toilet always clogged up. The TV in the master bedroom is an old TV that could not get any english channel. Several outlets were not working and caused the breaker to trip. We called the fromt desk several times to have our concerns fixed and were brushed off, saying they had to wait for the engineer. Until we left three days later and numerous follow up,, some of our concerns were still not taken care of. . Because of this, I do not think it is a 4 star hotel. There was no strong effort to address the concerns of the guest..
