I booked the reservation online through their website. For the price we paid 550 euros per night, for 5 nights, we expected excellent service. We booked the Trinita De Monti Suite de luxe and were happy with it - two flatscreen TVs, modern bathroom. However, since there were 4 of us, we needed the extra bathroom and inquired about the apartment. We were told the rate was depending on the number of people and were surpised to be quoted rates lower than the rate (300- 450 euros)we paid for the suite deluxe. But when they checked our current rate, we were told they would give us the apartment for the same rate we were paying. We transferred and expected better accomodations. The apartment is really big but is not as modern as the suite deluxe. One bathroom is old and the toilet always clogged up. The TV in the master bedroom is an old TV that could not get any english channel. Several outlets were not working and caused the breaker to trip. We called the fromt desk several times to have our concerns fixed and were brushed off, saying they had to wait for the engineer. Until we left three days later and numerous follow up,, some of our concerns were still not taken care of. . Because of this, I do not think it is a 4 star hotel. There was no strong effort to address the concerns of the guest..

Hotel Homs
[----]

Re hotels in Rome there are loads depends on your budget and where you want to stay. Check out www.activehotels.com (my preferred choice) and hotels.com.

I personally can recommend Hotel Homs but it is a four star, I thought very affordable considering ((£296 for two nights). I booked a single room (comes with a double bed) I thought it was a good size but I'm easily pleased! I wanted a bit more luxury after sharing a room with two others in a basic hotel in Pescara (2hrs away from Rome, was attending a wedding) and also because I was woman travelling alone didn't want to feel isolated. It's just off the Spanish steps and walking distance to all the sights. Includes flatscreen TV, huge shower, minibar, safe deposit box also onsite restaurant but hotel still feels cosy and boutique with character. After sharing a room it was beautiful to have a big modern bathroom all to myself with a proper full-on power shower, hair dryer and magnifying mirror. I usually do basic accomodation so for me this was a real treat. I had ear plugs I always carry them when I travel particularly in European cities. You do hear the noise from the street when the shutters are open but remember it is a central location. There is a fruit seller at the bottom of the road selling fresh fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice. Which was great for mea as I eat a fresh and live food diet. Cafes, and restaurants abound so food won't be your problem. Frontdesk staff are what I would call professionally nice apart from one who I can't remember her name, was genuinely very, warm. The cleaning staff are ace.

I decided to go with this hotel last minute , wasn't sure what to expect. Turned out to be an excellent hotel, with a brilliant location, walked to almost all the sites, which is great as you'll save money. If your a lover of shopping and love big name brands the location of this hotel is fab is around the corner from Gucci etc.

The Hotel was great, i had a double room which was an ok size as was bathroom. Service was good, staff were polite and happy to help when requested although made no real attempt to get to know us or really speak to us otherwise. Overall great hotel would stay there again.

Just a quick note, was very expensive as a city in terms of food and drinks would recommend you buy e.g. large bottles of water etc from a local shop tucked away from the main tourist points as this should save you money.

If you are going to Rome and want to be within walking distance of the best attractions & shopping then stay here! It is clean, beautiful, and in the center of it all! We only stayed here for 2 nights (because we were on an organized Globus tour beforehand & had only 2 free days) but when I come back to Rome I will definitely stay here! The hotel staff were very helpful, the AC worked (important in August!) and you were just steps away from the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps & the best shopping Rome has to offer. Not to mention countless restaurants. I loved this place. Would recommend it to all of my friends!

Can't beat the location of this hotel. As a young female traveling alone, the neighborhood was very important and this hotel is in a great one! I never took a taxi/metro and walked everywhere. 3 minutes to Spanish Steps/Trevi Fountain; 25 minutes to Vatican; 15 minutes to Colisseum; 15 minutes to Pantheon; 20 minutes to Trastevere. I did do a lot walking. The staff at night was friendlier than the day staff. The night guy (Gianluca) even let me print my tour confirmation on the reception computer and another guy helped me with airport directions. My room (single) was small by American standards but if you travel in Europe at all, you'll see it is standard. It was spotlessly clean and had a standing shower, nice bathroom and toiletries provided, too. Downside is it's a bit noisy at night, but I slept with earplugs. If you're planning on sight seeing and using the hotel mainly for sleeping, like I did, then this is perfect. If you want to lounge in the hotel all day, then I'd suggest picking another one. There's even a grocery store around the corner and I had a small fridge in my room I used for snacks/fruit I bought. If you are traveling with kids or tons of lugagge, take the €60 taxi from airport to the hotel. But otherwise, the train/metro is the way to go at about €13 total. It's a little tricky: From the airport (FCO), head toward sign Stazione FS which is down an escalator before exiting the airport building. Take that to the train station and buy your ticket at the counter to Termini metro. You'll be on the train for about 30 minutes and once you arrive at the train stop, exit the station and head right up the street toward the "M". Once you're in Termini, head down the escalator to the A line towards "Battistini". Buy your ticket at the kiosk. Exit at Spagna and once you're out, head left down the street (Spanish Steps will be on your left), then after about 1 or 2 blocks, make a right on Via Della Vite and hotel is on your right.
Enjoy Rome - I loved it!
