Hotel Homs
[----]
Re hotels in Rome there are loads depends on your budget and where you want to stay. Check out www.activehotels.com (my preferred choice) and hotels.com.
I personally can recommend Hotel Homs but it is a four star, I thought very affordable considering ((£296 for two nights). I booked a single room (comes with a double bed) I thought it was a good size but I'm easily pleased! I wanted a bit more luxury after sharing a room with two others in a basic hotel in Pescara (2hrs away from Rome, was attending a wedding) and also because I was woman travelling alone didn't want to feel isolated. It's just off the Spanish steps and walking distance to all the sights. Includes flatscreen TV, huge shower, minibar, safe deposit box also onsite restaurant but hotel still feels cosy and boutique with character. After sharing a room it was beautiful to have a big modern bathroom all to myself with a proper full-on power shower, hair dryer and magnifying mirror. I usually do basic accomodation so for me this was a real treat. I had ear plugs I always carry them when I travel particularly in European cities. You do hear the noise from the street when the shutters are open but remember it is a central location. There is a fruit seller at the bottom of the road selling fresh fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice. Which was great for mea as I eat a fresh and live food diet. Cafes, and restaurants abound so food won't be your problem. Frontdesk staff are what I would call professionally nice apart from one who I can't remember her name, was genuinely very, warm. The cleaning staff are ace.
