Can't beat the location of this hotel. As a young female traveling alone, the neighborhood was very important and this hotel is in a great one! I never took a taxi/metro and walked everywhere. 3 minutes to Spanish Steps/Trevi Fountain; 25 minutes to Vatican; 15 minutes to Colisseum; 15 minutes to Pantheon; 20 minutes to Trastevere. I did do a lot walking. The staff at night was friendlier than the day staff. The night guy (Gianluca) even let me print my tour confirmation on the reception computer and another guy helped me with airport directions. My room (single) was small by American standards but if you travel in Europe at all, you'll see it is standard. It was spotlessly clean and had a standing shower, nice bathroom and toiletries provided, too. Downside is it's a bit noisy at night, but I slept with earplugs. If you're planning on sight seeing and using the hotel mainly for sleeping, like I did, then this is perfect. If you want to lounge in the hotel all day, then I'd suggest picking another one. There's even a grocery store around the corner and I had a small fridge in my room I used for snacks/fruit I bought. If you are traveling with kids or tons of lugagge, take the €60 taxi from airport to the hotel. But otherwise, the train/metro is the way to go at about €13 total. It's a little tricky: From the airport (FCO), head toward sign Stazione FS which is down an escalator before exiting the airport building. Take that to the train station and buy your ticket at the counter to Termini metro. You'll be on the train for about 30 minutes and once you arrive at the train stop, exit the station and head right up the street toward the "M". Once you're in Termini, head down the escalator to the A line towards "Battistini". Buy your ticket at the kiosk. Exit at Spagna and once you're out, head left down the street (Spanish Steps will be on your left), then after about 1 or 2 blocks, make a right on Via Della Vite and hotel is on your right.
Enjoy Rome - I loved it!
