...Conveniently located one block from the Lepanto Subway stop, walkable and clean area, comfortable and clean hotel with nice breakfast included every morning. The only things that were small (compared to US standards) were the elevator and the shower. But otherwise, the hotel was very comfortable and charming. The staff was very considerate and friendly despite my lack of Italian vocabulary. I would stay there again gladly.

The only thing I would agree with in the two bad ratings is that their "King Size" bed is two twins pushed together, but that seems to be a norm in many hotels around Italy. We were also informed that this what the bed would be like when we booked, so it wasn't a surprise for us. It's a reasonably priced hotel, so we knew what we were getting. We thought the staff was friendly and helpful (they looked up the train schedule to get to the airport and printed it out for us). They also had free WiFi if you're planning to bring a laptop. The breakfast service was way more than a continental breakfast, and was very friendly. It is also in a trendy neighborhood, with the only sushi restaurant we saw in Italy. It is a bit of a walk to the center of Rome (probably up to 1/2 hour to the Forum), but it's a great walk down Via Del Corso.

Hotel Gerber for an economical, roman hotel was great. For a quick visit to Rome, it has a great location in a tree lined street near the Vatican. All staff in the hotel were friendly and professional. Our room was comfortable and compact, with a spacious bathroom, we even had a bath. Would recommend it wholeheartedly and great value for money.

Terrific location a block from Lepanto Metro stop, and within easy walking distance of Vatican City and other major historical sites. Rooms were clean, breakfast was excellent, price was good, and the staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. Would definitely stay there again. We had two separate rooms, one for parents one for two teenagers.
