We arrived on a thursday for a 4 day visit and were met by nothing short of perfect hospitalty! Our room looked out onto a roman streetscape with greenery, rusty-coloured neighbouring building and views over rooftops. I had also ordered roses and a chilled bottle of wine to be waiting on our arrival, and this was beautifully arranged as we walked in. Absolutely super!
Breakfast on the top floor (reached only by the lift) was excellent with freshly pressed orangejuice, cappuccino and a broad display of continental breakfast choices. (not the selection of sweet danish etc. that we have had in other hotels in Italy). The view over the rooftops towards the Vatican is amazing! One can also reach an upper roof terrace where you can take your coffee/tea after breakfast to sample the view and discuss the days journey! The potted hedge up there could need a little trim as it´s quite thick, but it´s a minor thing.
Our top marks go nevertheless to the staff, whom we enjoyed stopping and talking to as long and often as possible. The owner of this hotel has a real knack for hiring staff that are kind, interesting and always helpful! A BIG thanks to Lois and the gang - you made our stay wonderful! THANK YOU!
kind regards
Erik and Justine / Oslo, Norway

Stayed here for 4 nights while siteseeing in Rome with my husaband and was pleased with all aspects of this hotel along with the location. The friendliness of the staff was warm and helpful and service was excellent along with a superb breakfast each morning with a lovely view of the Vatican from the pleasant roof terrace where breakfast was serves.

This hotel is well located being about halfway between the Vatican and the huge park Villa Borghese. Both are walkable although the metro stop Lepanto is on the corner and can really help with these and other locations.

Rooms follow on from the reception being classy and quite plush. The only drawback is the lack of in-room tea/coffee making facilities. Air con worked very well. Although the streets can be busy in the area no noise penetrates into the rooms, having shutters, double glazing and heavy curtains.

Breakfast choice is ample and is taken on the roof terrace under an awning.

Mostly the stand-out feature of this hotel is the quality of the care and welcome from the staff. Many we got to know on first name terms and they were exemplary, a great credit to this establishment and we wish them well - and hope to return!

We stayed in Rome for 5 nights. Arrived in the hotel at 11 a.m. and until 30 min. our room was ready. They upgraded us, got a nice double bed room (king size bed). Not very big, but ok for 2 and the luggage. Very nice room, clean, air condition, mini bar - everything ok.
The hotel style is like an old manor house, everything nice (for some maybe oldfashioned) and tastefull decorated.
Very luxurious buffet breakfast (not common in Italy!) with ham, eggs, cheese, sweets etc.
The stuff was extremly polite and helpfull! We got very good tips for dinner, they made also the reservations.
For some maybe a minus, they have no restaurant, but there are a lot of restaurants/trattorias outside in walking distance.
Location is quite ok - north of the Vatican, walking distance to Vatican app. 15-20 min; Piazza del Popolo app. 10 minutes. Metrostation 20m from the Hotel.

We stayed in Hotel Farnese with all our family 3 days in the end of August and enjoyed from its location in quiet Prati (5 minutes walk from Lepanto Metro and 15 minutes from Piazza Spagna and Vatican Museums), great breakfast, free parking, and very attentive service always giving with helpful maps correct descriptions, advices , and recommendaions.
