This is a place to stay if you just want somewhere to sleep, shower and leave your belongings. If you plan to spend any time in the hotel, then dont stay here.

It was clean, basic and close to all you'll want to see, including the Forums and colosseum. Its a walk to the vatican city too. In fact, its a walk everywhere, I doubt you'll need a taxi. (- tip, make sure you ask the price first, unless you are coming from the airport in which case its a fixed 40 euro price)

Rome is full of scooters so bring earplugs if you sleep lightly, its also quite echoey and you'll hear people in the room above etc.

Breakfast was fine, nothing special but had what you'd expect - coffee, tea, fresh croissants and fruit / cereal.

The staff are very helpful and go out of their way.

Just one more tip - dont pose with the plastic armoured centurions at the attractions...they'll walk up to you and say 'take a picture' ... then they charge you 5 euros per person.

We have stayed several times since 2006 at this basic 2 star hotel situated in an area where you can walk to all sites in central historical Rome. The rooms are clean and simple, the beds can be some hard, but it's ok. Their breakfast is good, with fresh rolls and croisants, as well as lots of realy good coffee. At our last stay we had a large 4 bed room on the first floor, we will soon be back.

We stayed in the Arenula because of it's location which is superb, OK the hotel is a little basic but is very clean and great value, air con was brilliant, staff were very friendly, breakfast was great, I would definitely recommend this place to others, when we arrived I had forgotten to print out the voucher, no problem said the receptionist, when you get a chance please use the free computer and print it out for us. Lovely people and helped to maek the stay memorable for all the right reasons. Yes the stairs are a bit of an effort if you are on the top floor, but it's worth it.

My mom and I got a really good deal at this hotel on the internet, so I don't have too many complaints. The stairways are very white and pretty - which you notice because there isn't an elevator (so try to get on a lower floor if you don't want to or can't trek up too many stairs).

We had a room on the 4th floor (which was hard to walk up to after a long day of sightseeing), but it was a lot brighter than the other floors. The air conditioning worked well enough, and the room was clean. It was nice to have white tiled floors in the immense heat, and the beds were comfortable enough. The rooms could use some updating - like many hotels in Rome. But, unlike many hotels in central locations, its quiet and doesn't have much street traffic. It's in the old Jewish Ghetto, which is now a bustling community close to the Campo dei Fiori, Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

The staff was really nice and let us check in super early. They also had a free computer with internet for guests. Continental breakfast was abundant, and the lady in the breakfast room makes amazing coffee and cappucinos.
