What a great hotel. The front desk was so helpful. The hotel is literally in front of the Vatican. Just cross the street and the entrance to the Sistene chapel is right there. It takes about 8 minutes to walk to the entrance to get to St. Peter's square. There is a bus stop just around the corner. There is a grocery store a block away. Wonderful restaurants everywhere. Breakfast was included and plentiful. Rooms were big and beautiful. I couldn't have asked for a better hotel. We absolutely loved it.

We stayed here on our first trip to Rome and we will be going back again....and again. The staff was helpful and shuttle to and from the airport was great. But the highlight of the stay I must say was definitely Francesco their chef. Every morning we were greeted with a huge smile, delicious hot breakfast and pastries. Next time we will book 2 rooms; one for our adult children who stayed their with us. The Puglise Family, Texas

We stayed at Hotel Alimandi for about a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is just a stone's throw (up some stairs) to the Vatican Museum. Getting in to The Vatican itself (like to St. Peter's Square), is a good 5 blocks awau or so along the walls of the Vatican....not really a chore.
Following Rick Steve's recommendation, we took a lot of cabs. We found that we could get just about anywhere in Rome from Hotel Alimandi for about 10-12 Euros.
The Metro is about 3 or 4 blocks away and will get you around easily, too.
We have to give a shout out to Francesco, the gregarious breakfast cook and server. He is an adorable character and was a bright start to each day that we were in Rome.

We stayed at Hotel Alimandi for almost a week and from our arrival felt comfortable and welcome. We were delighted with the size of both our room and bathroom - and with the power shower!
Breakfast was generous, varied and relaxed. Service was especially friendly and there was no limit to the cappuccinos!
All staff were approachable, attentive and responsive, and everyone was willing to help with even the smallest request.
It is clear that this is a family-run hotel, and there were personal touches at every turn; it was lovely to arrive at a restaurant recommended by Grazia and to be welcomed because they had been told to expect us.
We look forward to a return visit, and would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Alimandi at Via Tunisi to even our most exacting friends.

We stayed at the Alimandi Tunis Hotel part of the Alimandi Group. It was perfect, the rooms/bathroom were comfortable and spotlessly clean with "white" towels and bedlinen. Breakfast far above the average. The staff were knowleagable and polite, nothing was too much trouble.

Immediately opposite Vatican City and very easy to get to other parts of Rome, taxi approx 10eu and bus No81 for 1eu. Walking easy and all areas very accessible for those able to walk a reasonable distance.

Excellent value for money, suitable for all age groups. Lifts to all floors.

They arranged a mini bus to and from the airport for our group of 8 at a very reasonable price

Will certainly go back in 2009, Rome is wonderful, so much beauty in such a small area
