Most recently I stayed at this hotel in August 2008, but I also stayed there during a previous trip to Rome in 2005. The hotel was a nice as I remebered. The rooms are very large for Europe and they are one of the few hotels with actual quad rooms, meaning two double/queen beds. Most hotels simply roll cots into a double room. Another great feature is the breakfast, which has a large variety of both cold and hot food. Finally, the location, which is directly accross from the entrance to the Vatican Museum cannot be beat. The next time I am in Rome , I will definitely book this hotel again.

We stayed at the via Tunisi street hotel and had a wonderful experience. You might think the hotel is out of the way near the Vatican but the bus system in Rome is so convenient and the front desk is very helpful finding the right bus to get you where you want to go.

The rooms were a good size with a great air conditioner! They were very quiet too (we were in room 235). The shower was a little small though.

The hotel has a great community room with a TV and we all enjoyed watching the European football championship games together.

The breakfast was on the roof, which was so nice. Good food too! It was also nice having a shuttle to the airport and from the train station when we arrived!

This hotel was far beyond our expectations. We have many fond memories of our time there. The personnel were friendly, courteous and respectful . They could not have done more for us to make our time there more enjoyable. We have recommended this hotel to family and friends. Stay and have a great time !!!!

I've been coming to Alimandi since 1966. I might be prejudice but I still marvel at the wonderful job they have done and continue to do with thier hotels. Alimandi Vaticano is a wonderful hotel with large ,clean and beautiful rooms, great service especially Aldo at the front desk. Great food, and here I'm an expert since I have been a chef for some 35 years. In fact, Pino, the chef at Vaticano does a marvelous job in preparing the buffet breakfast which includes eggs and bacon done crispy by the way.
The house keeping is under the perview of Sandra Alimandi who keeps a constant overview of the hotel and it's needs.
The Alimandi family tradition was started my their mother, Dina, in the mid 50's by renting out rooms in her apartment. The children have worked hard in building up the two hotels and have mantained the mother's tradition of cleanliness and hospitality.
I will be returning to Rome in Sept and they will have my room ready.

The Alimandi has been our Rome Hotel of choice on three occasions - the latest in 2006, when we travelled with Alfredo deBonis, who does cultural and culiinary tours in Italy. The family welcomes you to their charming location - convenient for a Vatican visit, or shopping, etc., and you quickly feel "at home". Breakfast on their rooftop can't be beat - wonderful array of traditional foods that will start your day off in the best possible way! The rooms are spacious, with a/c and nice bathroom amenities ... and the cozy bar is the place where you unwind and share your day's outings. Whether it's your first or repeat visit to the Eternal City, you'll feel well-cared for with this warm family! (And don't miss lunch down the street at Guilio's!) Joan and Frank McCann
