If your criteria for selecting a hotel is location, then look no further. I had researched the hotel online and through travel guide publications, which described this as "Rome's most famous little boutique hotel" and gave it a three star rating. I will concede and give it one star for its location. The hotel was run down. Cleanliness was not a top priority. There was mildew in the shower walls, around the shower hardware, the walls in the back of the toilet and the bidet. The bathing soap was so small they could fit into the palms of a two year old, try bathing with that!. The towels barely dried a recently bathed person. The dust on the chaise lounge had permanently changed the color of the fabric, a corner of the lounge was ripped. The curtains were cover with dust, one wonders if they were ever cleaned. The bed linen was akin to sandpaper. I believe the bed linens and towel were cleaned because it appear they sent them out for cleaning. The bed skirt was ripped torn and worn. Turn down service? Not in this hotel. You were luck they went in once a day to make the bed and leave fresh towels. If you are thinking personal service for breakfast, forget it. The eggs were laid out since 7:30 am, I think because that was the time the placed opened for breakfast. Coffee and juice were from a machine. Assorted pastry were laid out. Try to get information about tickets to tourist attractions and taxis felt like we were seeking undercover information. I found out that we could arrange them by ourselves for 1/3 of the actual cost. for the tourist attactions. You got free internet service, but funny how if you sought out to purchase online for tickets or to find out rates on other hotel these were blocked. We felt manipulated, treated like idiots and absolutely ripped off.
