Huge room, with an equally large balcony. I have stayed in rooms in Europe that were smaller than the balcony. Location is good but you do need to do a little walking which is fine when you are in rome.

My wife and I stayed here on our Honeymoon for the 4 days we spent in Rome. This hotel could not be better positioned. It is right up the block from the Spanish steps which you can see out of the window. The streets aroung have great shopping and the restaurant next door has amazing food. The hotel has an included breakfast which is simple and you're better off spending the time out and about and walk into a little cafe and get their pastries. The room is quite nice and has shutters just like all of the other hotels. At night it is quiet but during day its bustling. The front desk could have been a bit more enthusiastic but if I'm ever in Rome this would definitely be on the list.

Stayed here for four nights in February, 2009 Clean hotel in a great location near all of the sights as mentioned by other recent posts, price was reasonable in the heart of the city. Very comfortable Hotel, quiet at night. Staff was helpful and knowling Italian was very helpful( English was also spoken) The hotel made three Excellent dinner reservations for us, all nearby. Would stay again, if went back

just got back from 6 nites at the san carlo.

great location- near the piazza spagna- its metro station and taxi stand was 5 minutes away. we walked to the piazza popolo, piazza navona, pantheon, trevi fountain, spanish steps, piazza colonna and a number of churches and took the metro to the vatican and other places further out.

a number of excellent restaurants were within a reasonable walk.

the hotel was immaculate. the shower pressure was excellent.

we had an internet problem during our stay. the hotel told us that there would be internet service in our room. they were having problems with the service during our stay and for a few days it did not work in our room. they offerred to move us but we had a room with a terrace and the other rooms did not so we did not want to move to a lesser room. instead at night, they gave us the key to a different room that was unoccupied that had working internet - it was a little inconvenient but they tried to make us happy. after the third day, the internet was fixed in our room.

when we checked out, they willingly gave us a discount off of the agreed price for our troubles.

the staff were very friendly and tried hard to please.

drawbacks- the rooms were on the small size. the elevator could only fit 2 people at one time. the breakfast was ordinary.

all in all- the location, cleanliness, price and friendliness of the staff outweighed the drawbacks and our stay was quite pleasant.
