Excellent location and friendly and helpful staff. We have stayed in this hotel whenever we visit Rome which is usually five to six times a year, since 2004. The installation of a lift makes it a perfect place. Breakfast could be improved but having such wonderful meals in Rome, breakfast does not get a priority. I would recommend this hotel to anybody who would like to be close to all important places in Rome's historical centre.

I have now been a number of times to Hotel San Carlo over the last four years and have constantly found improvements to the Hotel and great attention to Customers by both managers and staff. I certainly recommend it for the location next to the "Spanish Steps" and the "Via del Corso" where everything is walking distance.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at San Carlo. You can not find a better location for the price. We were just steps away from the Spanish Steps and the up-scale shopping district and only a short walk to the main attractions of central Rome. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff pleasant, and the location quite. This is our fourth time at the hotel and we will definitely come again!

We stayed at the San Carlo the week before Christmas (and in November of 08, as well). Our friends and their three school-aged children were with us and everyone had a wonderful stay. The staff goes out of its way to accomodate families and those whose Italian skills are modest (like mine!). The rooms are lovely and the bathrooms have been upgraded since our first trip here five years ago. The towels and amenities are plentiful, as is the breakfast, although we seldom take advantage of it. Our room (and our friends' room) had a balcony- with the mild winter, it was fantastic to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine. The rooms all have small refrigerators to store any leftovers. The staff holds bags while you shop and deposits them in your room. I really cannot say enough good things about this property or its wonderful staff! Best location imaginable, particularly for the price.
