“Lovely boutique hotel, great location for exploring Ancient Rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed today NEW

I stayed at the hotel for 4days in October. I was looking for a hotel with contemporary rooms and in a good location for site seeing and a bit nightlife – Hotel Abruzzi was perfect.

I went for the corner suite with views of the Pantheon and Piazza Rotanda, the room was bright and airy. If you are willing to spend a little extra, the corner suite is worth the extra if available – but the normal rooms with views of the Pantheon are good too. The room finish, cleanliness etc. was definitely better than the official rating 3 star.

As far as location goes, you can’t really get better unless you want to be right next to the Vatican/Collesum/Piazza Novana etc. I was considering staying closer to Piazza Novana and Campi de Fiore (spelling something close…) which are more lively for nightlife/restaurants/bars etc, but they are 5-10mins walkway and I felt it would be better to stay in a smaller more intimate square besides the Pantheon. So Hotel Abruzzi was the perfect balance for me, Collesum and the Roman Forum are a 10min walk away.

Only downside would be price (around 200-250Euros per night), but this is prime historic Rome so it’s expected and worth paying the extra for location and Quality.

Highly recommended!

As a travel agent I recently recommended this hotel for my daughter and her partner. Having visited Rome last year and having had a wonderful stay at a hotel just a few steps away, the Albergo Del Sole Al Pantheon, I booked the hotel Abruzzi for her.
They had a fantastic time, their room was huge, beautifully decorated with a breath-taking view of the pantheon. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for them. and the location cannot be beaten for all the major sights of Rome.
Prior to their stay my emails were answered promptly and they were so very kind and ensured that my daughter and her partner had a truly memorable trip to Rome.
To the staff and management of the Abruzzi - thank you - I shall be recommending you to all my clients.

Room Tip: pantheon view rooms are to die for

Our well-appointed Junior Suite had an excellent view of the Pantheon, and all the hustle and bustle of the Piazza de la Rotonda. The room appeared to have been recently refurbished, and combined a modern feel with the original ceiling beams. A lot of space was saved in the room by having cavity sliders. The Junior Suite had one large room with twin beds and a smaller one with a single bed in it. Both room had a TV and minibar (very reasonably priced). Rom decor was good, with a facsimile of a 16th or 17th century map of Rome covering one entire wall. The Albergo doesn't have a restaurant or breakfast room, but they obviously have a deal with on e of the cafes on the Piazza to provide a buffet breakfast, which was very satisfactory. There are a couple of very minor issues which prevented me giving it a 5 rating - the bathroom light is extremely difficult to in in the dark, and the lift (the smallest I have ever seen) only starts at the 1st floor. These are very minor points though. It is perfectly situated for exploring the sights of Rome - my two boys and I only used public transport once in the four days we were in Rome. Would deinitely stay there again.

We stayed here on our honeymoon for 4 nights in a row and we booked the larger suite with pantheon facing view. We came in a day early and they were able to accommodate us in the same room without us having to move, all for the same rate too which was very nice.

All the reviews are true, the view is second to none here and the location is just perfect. The two reasons you must stay here.

That being said the suite we stayed in was excellent. Very comfortable, clean and modern. The maid service and room cleaning was daily. Wi-Fi was in room and worked good.

The downsides was the construction going on during our stay. We were completely unaware that they were remodeling the Abruzzi when we booked the room. They were renovating the 1st floor and the main entrance so you can imagine that the noise during early daytime and afternoon was heavy/loud but it didn't really bother us because we were out all day site seeing. The other downside is we had large luggage bags since we had been traveling Italy for 3 week. Of course the elevator only went to the 2nd floor because of the construction on first. So if you don't like stairs this might not be the hotel for you. But if you're young travelers like us and don't mind dragging bags around this is your spot!

A side note some of the staff were excellent, always smiling and greeting us even giving us an umbrella when it was raining. But we also observed some staff who seemed very bothered when other guests needed things and sometimes they didn't greet us when we came in or were leaving. There is no lobby in this hotel so you literally have to walk down a short hallway which funnels you right to the front desk to go upstairs, so it seemed weird when staff pretended not to notice us when we walked by.

The view and location paired with a clean, comfortable room made our stay overwhelmingly positive even with construction going on and staff being 50/50.

We will still recommend Hotel Abruzzi and stay here again next year!

This hotel is on a beautiful square overlooking the Pantheon. The rooms are small but are modern and spotlessly clean. The beds are incredibly comfortable. We were upgraded to a junior suite without requesting it and the views of the Pantheon were amazing. I have stayed on this square many times but in a higher end hotel. This hotel was half the price and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

Stayed here a few months back. Perfect place for families.
Studio rooms are great. Recently renovated. Very nice.
Staff were very happy, polite and helpful
Near to so many great attractions. My room overlooked the Pantheon. Only needed to get a taxi for the Vatican. Everything else was within walking distance. Awesome!
Near to great street life - piazza's, restaurants, buskers, markets.
Breakfast in the Piazza watching the city come to life
Dinner in one of many restaurants nearby in the small alley-ways surrounding the hotel.
Honestly, it's perfect. Look no further.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the Pantheon The Piazza is very busy, so a higher floor room may be quieter

The Abruzzi is a very nice hotel and the location is ideal - in the middle of many "must-see" sites, with an excellent view of one "must-see," the Pantheon. It's a nice view to wake up to; and it's interesting to see the piazza loud and bustling throughout the day and night, and calm and relatively peaceful in the morning and very late evening. But the central location does have its price -- piazza noise. With the windows closed, though, it's not that bad. However, during our stay, there was some construction work being done in the hotel, and we can hear a lot of hammering. Nevertheless, I would recommend this hotel for its location and very friendly staff -- not to mention more modern rooms. Nota bene - there are a lot of steps in this hotel. To get to the lift, you have to walk up to the 1st floor. Most of the time, we just walked up/down to our room (3rd floor) as there was only 1 elevator and it wasn't the fastest.
