The hotel was a typical 3 star hotel - clean, small rooms, decent bathroom. The staff were great and very hepful. Right across from the train station which is convenient, however, it was not a location that I would choose to stay at again. I did not feel safe walking around the area at night and found that it was far from the sights that i wanted to see. The bed was horrible - the springs stuck out. The breakfast was okay.

I stayed at Aphrodite Hotel for 2 nights. I arrived a bit early (12:30pm) but they still allowed me to check in. The young lady at the reception area was nice and spoke English well. She explained how to use the card key to turn on the lights. When you enter your room, you have to put the card key into a slot next to the door to turn on the electricity in the room including the ac.

My room was on the first floor (piano 1) so I used the stairs instead of the elevator (lift) which is slightly small anyway. When I entered my room, I thought it was nice and clean. It was kind of small but that didn't matter to me because I was out for most of the days and only used the room for keeping my luggage, sleeping at night, and showering. Since I was in a single room, I was surprised that the bed was slightly bigger than a typical twin size bed. There was a mini bar and tv that I never used.

The bathroom was very nice and clean. They only have liquid soap for the sink and in the shower. They didn't have any free mini shampoo and conditioner. The towels were nice, clean and plentiful. The only problem with the bathroom is that the shower was incredibly small and the shower door didn't completely close.

The biggest problem that I had with the hotel was the lack of security. They had a sign in the room stating that they were not responsible for any lost or stolen items from the rooms. I didn't think much of it at first until in the middle of the night I would hear my door being opened and immediately slammed shut. At first I thought that I was imagining it. But after I had breakfast in the hotel (which by the way was nice and the breakfast room is located on the roof), I used the elevator to go back down to the floor that my room was on. When I got off of the elevator, I noticed some people going down the stairs and I went towards what looked like my room door. I used my card key to open the door and I noticed that there was already a card key inserted into the slot for electricity. That's when I looked up to see the room number (it was 304 and mine was 104). I think the people who were going down the stairs had gotten impatient for the elevator and took the stairs instead, and I ended up getting off at the wrong floor. But more importantly I realized that the card keys can open any room in the hotel. The rooms can be locked from the inside, which I started to do especially since I was hearing people come into my room in the middle of the night, but when you're gone, you can't lock it, so anyone with a card key can come in. Whenever I left, I had to repack and lock my luggage. I would put my luggage in the closet, and I used the mini safe in the closet for my most important small items.

I would recommend this hotel because it's clean and conviniently located to the main central station (termini), but have caution. Remember to lock the door when you are in, and to repack and lock your luggage when you leave the room.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. It did the job...or so we thought. On returning home we found that someone had treated themselves to over £1,200 of goods from the Apple store courtesy of our credit card details. So I would recommend to avoid using their online reservation system on their website and pay in cash if you want to stay here.

The theft aside, the hotel has a convenient location and the rooms were OK, though overpriced for what they are.

My friends and I stayed at Aphrodite Hotel for our first night in Italy. The rooms were extremely small, as were the shower stalls. After checking out for our first night (we were going to stay in Florence for the following two nights, before heading back to Aphrodite Hotel for the remainder of our trip), the front desk staff told us that their credit card machine was out of order, and that we would have to pay in Euros. Luckily, we had Euros, but the front desk didn't even have change to give us, because you know, not having cash in register when your credit card machine doesn't work makes perfect sense.
Rather than being helpful, the front desk suggested that we go to a nearby ATM and get change (which meant us going out of our way to get change that the hotel didn't have, ATM fees, etc. for us). Definitely no help, whatsoever.

After a pleasant hotel experience in Florence, we came back to Aphrodite for the remainder of our trip. Not only was the staff extremely rude and unhelpful, but the hallways reeked of urine. No joke. And our hotel stay at Florence for the same amount of rooms and for 2 nights in a nice, central location was waaaay cheaper than just one night at Aphrodite.

When we were checking out for the final time, the front desk staff wouldn't allow us to charge the bill on 5 different cards (for 2 rooms). Rather than apologizing for the inconvenience, the staff member was extremely rude and condescending, telling us that a big city like Rome doesn't allow bills to be split on multiple credit cards (mind you, my friends and I are from New York City). The fact that he refused to be courteous (even though in our outrage, we told him we weren't mad at him, but rather at the situation) really was off-putting.

When in Rome, stay away from Aphrodite Hotel. Very misleading, totally unhelpful, and horrible horrible horrible.

My husband stayed in this hotel for our last night in Italy (we spend 17 nights touring the country). We had already been to Rome, but since we were coming from Sorrento, we spent one night here and flew out the next morning.

This hotel is literally across the street from the train station, which was really nice after a long trip and having heavy luggage w/souvenirs. It was the smallest room we stayed in, but plenty sufficient for our purposes. It was recently renovated, and felt very clean. We stayed in a room that faced the back of the building, and while the view wasn't great the quietness was!

This hotel suited our needs quite perfectly. Not sure I'd want to spend more than a couple of days there, but it really was quite sufficient. Cleanliness and quietness - can't beat that.
