I was one of a group of 14 on a much awaited sightseeing holiday (4 days). We had moved out of a previously booked unsatisfactory hotel after just one night and were desperate to find another that could accommodate all of us at short notice.
The APHRODITE hotel did just that. The young man on reception went out of his way to "juggle" things around to provide 7 rooms. Initially he was apologetic, stating that they would need a little time to get the rooms ready, but offered a room for our bags etc. in the meantime.
It actually took less than half an hour, during which time we booked in and were given information on their facilities etc.,whilst the staff were running round getting everything prepared for us.
Our room was on the top floor, accessed by a modern lift. After the upset of the previous hotel, this room was an absolute joy. Clean, modern, beautifully decorated, large bathroom with a jaccuzzi bath (much used over the 3 days!), mini bar, satellite t.v, hairdryer and all for 85 euros per night for room/breakfast.
In the morning a full continental breakfast was available in the dining room on the 5th floor, which was next to the roof terrace. There was a wide choice of foods in a clean and well presented sunny room. The staff (particularly the waiter) were extremely helpful and attentive. Each day clean, fresh towels were provided and our room was cleaned.
I know some of the party had rooms to the front of the hotel which overlooks the termini and at times it could be a bit noisy when the windows were open. Our room was at the rear and was extremely quiet (only the birds & sometimes the air conditioning breaking the silence!)
The site of the hotel is extremely handy for the termini (buses & trains), literally 10 seconds across the road, which gives access to all the main tourist attractions. The coaches from the airport drop off and pick up again directly opposite this hotel too.
I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to any other travellers.
The area around the termini is not the best in Rome, but the accessibility of all the facilities is what makes for an attractive choice, there is also a constant visible police presence which is reassuring.
