We booked the Hotel Aphrodite (a small boutique hotel) near the train station as we were departing on a cruise the following evening. The hotel had just been remodeled and was wonderful. It had a really a nice deck on the roof. Although the room was small it was very clean, nicely appointed and quite adequate for a few nights. The hotel staff was excellent and they provided a continental breakfast in a small breakfast room.
The location was perfect for our needs as we took the train to Rome from the airport and then the following afternoon we took the train to the port. This saved us approximatgely $175 in transfer charges, had we booked transfers through the cruise ship. The train station is also the starting point for the double deck bus tours and within walking distance of many attractions.
