We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The hotel is covered in scaffolding and sheeting so impossible to see out of the windows to even check on the weather. The bathrooms are in very poor condition, dirty grouting, no enamel on the bath and horrible dirty taps and plugs.
The hotel is located very near to the staion but also next to the coaches and tour buses. The double glazing is totally inadequate so the room was noisy for the majority of the night. We got very little sleep.

We abandoned the idea of breakfast on the second day as it was not worth the bother.

The hotel was in a good location being right beside the train station. The staff was helpful when asked questions. The room while old was fine and surprising very little noise (highest floor) came through the patio even though we were on the street side. The hotel was doing some remodelling however this didn't have a negative effect on us. the worst part of the stay was the free breakfast. The breakfast was fine the first and even second day however after 6 days straight of the exactly same food I was ready to go on a diet. Even though the hotel says they have wireless internet they don't have any.

Bulding works right outside our window. They didn't warn us and when I complained that they started at 6.50am I was told that I was mistaken as they didn't start until 9am. Next day, same start at 6.50am. 2 staff came to room and agreed it was noisy. Reception head told me I was lying and that the builders didn't start work until 8am. She only chsanged her mind when I showed her time stamped photographic proof but no apology and nothing was done to stop/lessen the noise.
Room itself was OK but bathrooms have seen better days. I would not stay here again under any circumstances due purely to staff rudeness.

This was the only 4 star hotel that we booked on our trip through Europe. We stayed here for 3 nights and I was a little disappointed, especially given we had good experiences in 2 and 3 star hotels in France. We were looking forward to a little luxury. While the rooms are quite nice and certainly very roomy with a big bathroom (unusual in Europe), I was disappointed that the WiFi connection had to be purchased and you could only use it in the lobby! This necessitated bringing the laptop down from our room and sitting on uncomfortable lounge chairs in the dark. Also, the staff made no attempt at all to be friendly or welcoming. A smile would have cracked their faces! The hotel is in a relatively good location, right outside the Termini Railway station which made it easy to get around Rome via Metro and train. Breakfast was a full buffet but generally, we found the food was cold and unappetising. Overall, a disappointment given it's rating.
