We actually had a great stay at this hotel compared to some other reviews. We liked our room, the bed was comfortable, the tub/shower was large, we were at the back and there was no city noise at all. We enjoyed the breakfast, one of the biggest and best of the continental breakfasts that we had on our stay throughout different cities in Italy. The front desk staff wasn't the most friendly or most helpful, but no one in Italy seemed to be overly friendly.

The location was great too. It was easy to hop on city transit and make your way anywhere throughout the city. There were also good places to eat nearby.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay here.

I just stood at Royal (?) Santina for three days, to attent a workshop nearby. The hotel is very conveniently located, indeed, a fewsteps from the Rome main train station and hence from the Leonardo Express to/ from the airport.

Reception is more or less OK, but understaffed. Be prepared to queue for a while if several persons check out at the same time. Nothing but perhaps the large entrance hall is royal there ansrather looks medium to low class. My single bed room was small, and only with a shower. Few power plugs (I had to disconnect the TV to connect my laptop).

And, yikes, the aircon was out of order in all the hotel during the 3 days and nights(!) of my stay, while the weather waswarn and heavy. Sheer fun.

WiFi is overcharged, but that is usual in many hotels.

Breakfast buffet was a modest average, nothing exciting there. Usual industrial stuff, for instance when it comes to the scrambled eggs.

I would rate this as a decent well-located 2 stars hotel.

We felt the deal we got at the Royal Santina was worthwile compared with (atleast the presentation of ) other hotels in the same street.
The Royal Santinas location is right near the back entrance to the termini station (where you can get buses/metro to anywhere) however there were no decent restaurants near the hotel.
Staff we're as straight faced as the majority of Romans we encountered but were pleasant and helpful.
The rooms were cleaned everyday but the halls smelt faintly of cigarettes and there were a few burns/holes in some of the sheets. The bed was uncomfortable but we may have just been unlucky.
We enjoyed the bar and seriously recommend the "pasta and bacon" dish the hotel serve.
As a young couple the hotel offered us everything we expected and provided a good base when we had been out pounding the streets of Rome all day and needed to rest.
All in all, a good hotel experience!

We just stayed at the Royal Santini/Santana in Rome and did not have a very good experience. We stayed in a 'triple' at least that's what we called it. I believe it was their double with a cot. The beds were terrible, actually had a spring poking through one. The cot was even worse. Between the three of us, we were lucky to get 5 hours sleep total! Luckily our travel plans only had us staying there one night, one night too many!! It looked like this was once a nice hotel but it was evident maintenance has not been performed. If in doubt, just take a look at the lobby furniture, we didn't even dare sit on it given its shabby appearance.

The reason we picked this hotel was for its location close to Termini, the rail station since we had an early train to catch to the airport. You'd be better served to find something a little farther from the station and walk ten minutes rather than five. To that, we were surprised how close distances turned out to be as compared to how far we thought they'd be from looking at maps of Rome.

Avoid this place, there's much better to be had. No advantages to staying here.

Don't stay on this hotel! The furniture and the rooms are old, there is a smell of smoke everywhere in the hotel, no matter how much time you leave the windows open. The chief of the restaurant kicks you off it if you arrive near to 10h30m (on a decent hotel, you enter the restaurant and finish the breakfast without being bothered if you arrive before it closes).
The location is nice. However, there is a hundred hotels near the Termini Station in Rome. You can make a better deal staying somewhere else paying probably even less than you would pay for this trash place.
