Arriving late evening we only intended spending one night in the hotel and travel to Sorrento next morning. We were content to book something fairly basic - no point spending a lot. However we wanted a relaxing good night's sleep and to unwind. Unfortunately while our journey was pleasant with no problems when we presented ourselves to reception, within moments the tension started to rise dramatically. Our hotel vouchers did not match the booking held by the hotel --- we were 4 people, 2 double/twin rooms. They had us as 2 people, 2 single rooms; there were no double rooms left. Then we were told there would only be breakfast for 2 people, which became for no people after another staff member looked at the untidy bits of paper they held. As far as the hotel was concerned the paid for arrangements on our vouchers were not worth the paper they were written on - they had no interest in even examining them. We were sent to our rooms with no apology and told to discuss breakfast with the staff who would be on shift in the morning. The rooms were unbelievable - you had to walk sideways around the bed and sit at a most peculiar angle on the toilet. Needless to say we did get breakfast, but the holiday was off to an unsettling start.

Budget hotel that delivers what it promises - it's not pretending to be a 5 star so you must go expecting that.

Location is great for the Termini as everyone else has said - it's a 3 minute walk. Don't get ripped off by a taxi who'll charge you €20 to take you to the hotel via the scenic route. Taxi from Leonardo Da Vinci (Flumincino) airport will be €40 flat rate if you book a cab. If you pick one up then who knows! The other airport €30.

It's about 15-20 minutes walk to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain. 40 minutes to the Campo De Fiori and 50 minutes to St Peters. The termini however is very well served by the regular buses. You can get a night bus to the Termini easily.

Area around Termini is nothing to worry about - if I had not heard this prior to going then I would not notice it. It's simply not as scenic as other areas of the city - but this is Rome!

We paid €10 p.p.p.n for the breakfast, which while buffet style and ample was not great quality and even in the touristy places around the hotel you'd probably get better. Not bad at all though. The green house with views over the area was nice as the weather was gorgeous.

Staff were very courteous - not a single issue there.

Negatives:

Not able to borrow iron and iron board from reception (although a daily ironing service is available).
Maid service seem to ignore so not disturb signs and make up the room anyway (we checked in late, crashed and did not think it was worth them coming in the next day as we had not really lived in the room)
Our room on the 5th floor seemed to be right under the breakfast room and therefore when they started setting up it was a bit loud (6-7) and the same when breakfast started (7-10.30).
Internet Access expensive (wifi in room) - listed on various websites are free in room. Seemed to be a free wired connection in room according to the literature, but no actual point to plug into (maybe we did not find it - the minibar was hidden away and we only found it on our last day)

We stayed at this hotel for 1night on our way back from our honeymoon on the amalfi coast because we had an extended layover. It served its purpose well since it was easy to get to and from the airport. the rooms were small, but very clean. if we were going back to rome, we would probably choose to stay in a different location since the area around is not the most scenic/romantic. However, for 75 euros, we thought this was a great hotel for our purpose.

First and foremost, the place was really really clean. A must for us because a gross bathroom can do me in! The room was decorated nicely...for larger individuals it could be cramped, but for average sized folks it's just right. The staff, eh, not rude by any means, but not exactly warm and cuddly. That was the only issue I had with the place. A good place to stay if you're city-hopping around Italy because you can easily roll your bags over to/from the train terminal in about 10 minutes without needing a cab...a lesson we learned the hard way when a cabbie grabbed us right off the train and told us it was a pretty long walk then proceeded to take us the LONG WAY to the hotel and charged us about $20.

Myself and a friend stayed at this Hotel for 2 nights during our stay in Rome.

1. The Rooms were small however clean and had all the basic accessories that one needs
2 The Staff were the most rude on the Continent that I have ever expereinced - I am a Business Travel however this Hotel was for Leisure and I have never been spoke to in such an 'rude' and arrogant manner.
3. I had twisted my ankle it was pretty swollen and apparently there was no Ice available in the Hotel (38 Degrees during my stay) and no member of staff assisted me or were even bothered to help
4.'Smile' the Reception Staff did not smile, were arrogant, were in no shape helpful or went out of their way to help.
5. I was stopped on to occasions on the way back from an evening meal and asked if I was 'staying at the Hotel' My response was I wouldn't be walking in to my room if I wasn't staying here!

If the Staff would work on Good Manners, the occassional smile, and be most helpful I am sure the Hotel would be a Joy to stay in.

From my personal expereince I would 'Never' recommend this hotel to anyone based on my expereinces with the Staff and not the small rooms!

'Rome was beautiful........'
