I stayed here with my family over new years. The rooms were quite small for the price and a bit dark. Otherwise they were pleasant enough. The breakfast was excellent. The location is basically just above the Spanish Steps, meaning that it's right near the Villa Borghese Gardens, which is nice, but not that close to other points of interest. Overall it's a decent enough place to stay, but a bit of the expensive side considering the size of the rooms.

  • Liked — The breakfast.
  • Disliked — The small rooms.

Had a fantastic stay at Hotel Internazionale. The location was great just to the right of the hotel are the Spanish Steps. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and had a porter take our cases to our room. The building was very clean, well looked after and the staff very efficient. Our room was clean and the shower/toilet worked fine (always important). We didn't have a terrace unfortunately but that was no bother, we were only there for 2 nights and it was just somewhere to stay, but was nicer than I was expecting which is always a bonus. It was a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday so I wanted everything to run smoothly, which it did. They had figured that it was his birthday due to the birthday cards in our room, as we had a lovely surprise bottle of champagne when we came back to the room in the late afternoon. After our exhausting day of taking in all the sights of Rome, it was just the tonic!

  • Liked — Clean, good location, reasonable
  • Disliked — Old television in room, with a broken remote control

Stayed here with a group of friends in October. I found the hotel somewhat dirty. Front desk was not at all helpful. My room was so small I had to crawl over my husband to get to my side of the bed....maybe 1 ft on either side to the wall. In the bathroom you could sit on the toilet and brush your teeth at the same time....and if you dropped the soap in the shower you had to turn the water off and open the shower door in order to bend over and get the soap.
Some of my friends rooms were larger but not much.
Heat didn't work and we couldn't close the window so at night we were both cold and it was noisy.
Breakfast room was about the only highlight in this hotel. This place is in bad need of help. There is a delightful new place just around the corner called Albergo Ottocento. Wish we had stayed there!

My wife and I stayed here 6 nights during part of our honeymoon in Italy and had a wonderful time. The Internazionale has reasonable rates and an extraordinarily convenient location just about a half-block from the top of the Spanish Steps and very close to the Spagna Metro stop. It's a very safe area, and the hotel is a perfect base camp to explore the streets, cafes and sights of Rome. The staff were very friendly and helpful -- all spoke English, as most everyone seems to in Rome. The (included) breakfast each morning is quite nice and served in a beautiful room and setting. Our rooms (double superior rooms w/ terraces) were extremely quiet, clean and comfortable. Not a super-luxury hotel (and not nearly as expensive), but a comfortable, interesting boutique hotel with lots of character, history and charm. Definitely recommended.

  • Liked — location, service, price
  • Disliked — not a complaint, but walking up the Spanish Steps each night will help you work off the gelato and pasta ...

This place is badly in need of refurbishment. location is great, but. ???????
rooms are not clean, TVs are older than my children and smaller than I have seen in years, and did not work well. Showers overflowed because of drains being slow or blocked. Noisy on street side. we were in 3 different rooms and looked at 2 others.
we finally setteled on one it was so small i could lay in bed and almost touch both walls.
