It's my second time in this hotel and I can really recommend it. I think it's more a hotel for elder people - at least you don't really see a lot of young people. I've been there for business trips. They have wireless (ask for it), a TV in every room and if you're alone and just for a couple of nights there - you don't need more. The furnishure is a matter of taste. I don't like the red or green walls - but whatever - you're there to sleep and not to stay the whole day in the room - right? The personal is unbeliviable nice. They helped me with everything and they also like to have just a little chat. The breakfast is ok. (I'm not really a breakfast-girl... so don't ask me about this).. A disadvantage is, that you can't get anything to drink (at least nothing hot) or to eat after breakfast. Also the bar was never open during my stays. All in all it's a nice hotel with very friendly personal - in my opinion more for elder guests (I'm 19.. but there were really no other young people). The best of all is of course that it's very in the center. You have just a shopping street, the vatican, Tiber,... next to it! Big plus!

Lovely little hotel tucked away right near the Vatican. Friendly staff. Decent-sized rooms. Clean and nice.

Hotel Arcangelo is located close to Vatican City but out of the touristy areas. The room was of moderate size and served our needs well. The bathroom was large and had a good shower and plenty of hot water. The air conditioning worked efficiently and was quiet but we did not really need it since the ambient temperature was comfortable. The hotel offered free breakfast from 7–10am daily with a good selection of breakfast foods.
The hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Many thanks to Carlos for helping us set up various tours. What I liked best is that this hotel is on an off street that is quiet and provided us with a good nights sleep. We would leave early morning each day and return late. We are a mature senior couple that only used the room to sleep, shower, and change clothing. This is not a resort hotel but it is very efficient, clean, and well operated by the staff. We would stay here again should our travels bring us back to Rome.

By far our favorite hotel during our 12 day vacation in Italy. The staff went above and beyond, the room was much more spacious then the one we had at the Ara Pacis. The location was great. We were even pleased by the size of the bathroom. We will definitely stay here again!!

I booked a short stay at this hotel only too aware of the mixed reviews on this site. However , I got a great price with BA and the fact that it had a nice-looking roof terrace.

On arrival I was shown into a wardrobe like space that turned out to be a bedroom ! I could touch each wall by standing in the middle of the room, it was steaming hot and faced the street. said to the manager who showed me in that it was incedibly small but he shrugged and said that this is a standard single. That night was awful , the bed was miniscule and rock hard and the one pillow provided was about 5 mm thick. I weigh about 120 lbs so I dread to think how anybody larger could have fitted into that bed. The wallpaper was navy stiped which really added to the cell like feel.

The following morning , I complained and another desk clerk said , Oh do you want to change rooms ? The next room was heaps better and after that things were fine. However , the first night there were just 4 other guests in the entire hotel , so it was very mean minded to use this tiny room when so many others were available.

Th good points were a great roof terrace , excellent location and a decent breakfast. All are only any use if you actually get some sleep the night before.

But , beware on those tiny single rooms that really are only suitable if you are aged below 5 years or are not fussed about sleeping.
